As a Scot, years ago when they were full of rags and pricks like Terry, Ferdinand, Gerrard, Rooney, Beckham, Neville it would have been a nightmare.

Many of the guys now seem more decent lads, that would take the sting out of it. Though it would be repugnant to see Bellend lift the trophy with a great big, smug beaming smile.

Better in my eyes. Easier for travel, particularly afterwards and more time to enjoy it afterwards for the winners.

Was for the best that our game was 10pm local time as it would have been too hot to play before the sun set, made for an even bigger shitshow getting out of that building site afterwards though in pitch black and it being about 3am by the time anyone got back to wherever they were basing themselves in Istanbul.

Seriously though, just due to the players seeming less obnoxious and my natural softening with age, I don't think I would be that bothered now. I mean the media wankfest would be incessant, but I would be happy for your City guys. I don't know how popular this sentiment is on here either but Harry Kane is one of my favourite players and seems a model professional, so I'd be happy for him too.

It's Portugal I'd be really sickened to see win it. Seeing that plastic trollop hoist the World Cup into the air is the stuff of nightmares, especially when he'd likely need carried to it. Fernandes too. Thankfully I cannot see them getting near it. I have a lot of reasons why I am not on their hype train as much as a few others.

Thats always been the case, small neighbour syndrome. Both Irish teams and Scotland got plenty of well wishes when I was younger.
Wales never really got to one.

I watched Forest Villa Liverpool win it and it was generally welcomed before Liverpool did what they did.

Things changed I would have made a exception for the rags though :-)

I would still be quite happy for the Irish teams or Scotland to do well in tournaments.

Couldn't do with Rags or Candlepool winning the champions league or this particular Arsenal side. I would have been happy for Wengers side in their pomp winning it though.

They get a reasonable ko time not 10pm like us. I still carry the scars of Istanbul. On the back of my legs from those fecking seats. We were the real kiddies. Arsenal can fuck off. Cmon PSG.

I can only see a PSG win, we did the throbbers twice in a week or so and we're nowhere near the Paris lots level this season.

Just saw a clip of Piers Morgan on tnt saying he hopes they win it by a late corner and Gabriel flattening their keeper before scoring.

Guys a ****. Always been a ****. And he can try as much as he wants to reshape his career as a hard hitting journo exposing the truth and doing good, he’ll still be a ****. No one should forget the shit he did, and he should be reminded daily.
