Seem to recall many thought Frank would do well at Spurs…
This is more real than people like to admit. Talking to an academy worker at spurs here where i live now, he says agents have been in the ear of players and managers, the rise of nationalism in the provinces will drive all the best talent to London. Agents are pressuring players to sign for a London club as they will face less grief!!!. so the players and managers are told ..Farage fks us again after that bloody brexit farce!Wanted a London club apparently.
I like Iraola and I think he probably was the best manager in the league this past season but we really have no idea if he has what it takes to make that next step up to a big club. Its definitely a gamble whichever way you look at it.Iraola will be brilliant for them unfortunately.
But Slot has bought players who don’t play like that, so maybe it’ll be ok.Iraola’s football is more Klopp than it is Slot. High intensity, direct and quick.
Think he’ll work wonders there, unfortunately.
So, he’s not an Eternal Flame? And now Salah is about to Walk Like an Egyptian.
Good one :)So, he’s not an Eternal Flame?
Lets hope it stays off them.Takes the headlines off the Arse which is great come on PSG
And Bompastor inheriting Hayes' Chelsea women’s team. You could say the same about Pellegrini inheriting Mancini's team.
We all know that Pellers was only keeping the seat warm for Pep, whereas none of the others was doing a similar thing.Five managers in a row now who won the title in their first Premier League season and then either left/got sacked within two years.
Slot - sacked one year after
Conte - sacked one year after
Pellegrini - left two years after
Ancelotti - sacked one year after
Mourinho - left two years after
And although it wasn't his first PL season, Ranieri was sacked eight months after guiding Leicester to the title in his first season.
5 trophies in 9 years is no great shakes especially as in 2 of the cups, they didnt even score a goalKlopp has a champions league and 3 domestic trophies too. I've no dog in this fight, but why are you conveniently leaving out the rest that he's won? Yes I get Klopp had much more time to win them. But the point still stands.
What a load of old tosh. They probably want London because frankly that was where the vast bulk of the European Union money went. This is more real than people like to admit. I guess his main mitigating circumstance is that - for most of that time - he was up against you guys, and you were simply better and the best team English football has ever seen.5 trophies in 9 years is no great shakes especially as in 2 of the cups, they didnt even score a goal
Earnie Lost won the League in 24/25.Klopp's Liverpool were our greatest threat for 3 superb seasons but the problem with "heavy metal football" seems to be that it is difficult to maintain consistency over more than a season. After the title win of 2019-20 (99 pts) they fell off to third with only 69 pts. They got 92 pts the next season but Klopp only managed 82 in each of his last two seasons. Slot won the title with 84 in 25-6. The conclusion is that Klopp style football is far too demanding physically to compete over a number of seasons with Guardiola style football. By the time Slot got the job Liverpool were entering one of their troughs. Slot did well to win the title but change in personnel was necessary, as it was, for different reasons, at City.
This is what I think cost Slot his job. He brought in new players to the tune of almost half a billion pounds. Whether he concentrated on the right positions is a question as is whether he bought the right players, but they have not performed as expected. The true cost of Slot's reconstruction may be and unbalanced side that the club, now challenged financially, may struggle to rebalance.
Wait, wait, but there’s rules to stop that being a problem isn’t there, so I wouldn’t worry…
When Littlewoods appoint their new manager, we might see things In A Different Light.Good one :)
They better hope they get off to a better start next season or it could be a Hazy Shade of Winter. Things will be Getting Out of Hand over there. They need Iraola to give them Something to Believe In.
