Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

What's "the body of evidence". Look at Chelsea for the proof of holding onto players that aren't going to make shows you don't know what you're doing.

Having patience is nothing to do with what we're talking about. We're talking about players that clearly aren't going to make it with us and holding onto them too long will make it look like we don't know what we're doing. Hence the decline since 22/23
Sorry, I totally disagree with that. The "decline" was because we had a huge injury-hit season, and from that point to this we've lost so many top level players who are impossible to replace all at once. You might get one or two that slot in straight away but others take time. Then you have players who can miss a few games and hit the ground running when they come back into the side, Khusanov for example, and others who seem to need a few games to get up to speed and for me Reijnders fits into that category. Then you have to bear in mind that teams around you are also spending a lot of money and trying to improve too.

Not only that but everybody has got used to the way we play. It's not easy when you're trying to rebuild and coming up against a low block in 35 out of 38 matches. Some players need time, Nunes is a classic example of that, Doku another to a lesser extent. Rodri hasn't been as fit as we had hoped, Kovacic has been out for virtually the entire season, and despite all of this we still won two major trophies and had Arsenal not had a huge chunk of help several times along the way, might have even made it another treble so despite the disaster some seem to think it is, we're not actually that far off in my opinion. You don't win two trophies unless you have something about you.

Having said all that we're now having to move on with a new manager, and from the look of it with several members of the coaching staff leaving too, a new coaching team to come in and take over so there is bound to be a transformational period and we'll probably some players not fitting in that we've been used to watching every week while others might get another chance and do well in a different system.

I'm still backing us as the team to beat next season. Odds are going to be very interesting.

Therein lies the problem. In modern day PL you have to be the steel or at the very least have the bollocks to try to be the steel.
Good reason to let go of Savinho, Marmoush, Foden, Ran, and Lewis and most of them have had more than a season to "be the steel". We cutting them all loose?

Hopefully we get this done before he leaves for the World Cup
When are the players due to meet up for England? I assume it’s at some point next week?

*edit* just seen myself that England are due to fly to America tomorrow so looks like we will have to wait for this transfer to be done

‘Aside from the Arsenal and Crystal Palace contingent involved in two European club finals who will arrive later, the squad will come together from Monday 1 June at their prep camp in Palm Beach, Florida. After two warm-up fixtures, the whole group will then head to the team’s permanent tournament base in Kansas City on Saturday 13 June.’

Yeah just corrected my post as well. Shame we couldn’t get this one done before the World Cup

We've been on a decline since 23 mate. How can you deny that? We've not had multiple injury hit seasons.
23 was a team that took years to reach that peak, a peak very rarely reached by anyone. That team reached the end of the road in 24 with the 4 in a row.
This new team after last seasons decline is already winning trophies and taking the league to the last 2 or 3 games , how many trams can do that while rebuilding, and we’re getting better.
So no it’s on the rise not declining and we will push for the league next season.

10 million bonuses are the issue Forest owner wants better clauses wants Grealish type money. Just been told by the guy I know who’s a Forest fan who gets info to do with Forest. Tolmie backed up his info about Gibbs white so I trust him.

The window doesn’t open until June 15th, after the World Cup has commenced. For all we know, the deal could be signed and sealed, so it’s really a question of when the parties wish to announce it.
Well Barcelona signed Gordon. I think it’s very unlikely the deal has been done with Anderson completing medicals etc and not one journalist has got wind of any of this.

You can still sign players outside the window they just can’t be registered to play. We signed haaland way before the window as well and announced it in May if I recall correctly.

I think things with Anderson will be smooth enough, but convincing Marinakis will be anything but.

Not sure what happened to @cp64 :their opinion on the player and Forest was enlightening.

Forest might want to drag this out until after the World Cup in the hope they can drag other teams into an auction to up the price even more. Hopefully the player and his agent are pushing to get this done now.
