It was reported when Maresca was still at Chelsea that he had talks with us and Chelsea found this out because they put in his contract that he had to tell them if he talked to another club, think it was us and another club he had talked to.
There's been no real fuss about it either, all rather smooth. Hope it works out in our favour I'm actually excitedAnyone who’s got the bollocks to take over from Pep is worth getting behind
Signed for 3 years!!
Yeah that's not how contracts work.Maresca quit - it's between him and Chelsea. Nothing to do with us.
Came up as an alert on my phone. Seems it’s not reported in any credible media organisations yet.Where have you heard this?
Yeah that's not how contracts work.
We will have to pay compensation
That is what has been reported.I've ten years experience as Head of Compliance - I sit reviewing contracts all day every day. The contract is with Maresca and Chelsea - not City. He quit and isn't working there anymore. If he was still there and we approached Chelsea then that would be between us and Chelsea. As it stands, it's not.
The only way it would effect us is if there was a non-compete in place. Or if Maresca has told Chelsea we approached him while he was there and Chelsea can prove it. If he's done that, I'd personally tell him to pay anything himself for being an absolute moron.
That's not to say we won't end up paying Chelsea just to get them away. Personally I wouldn't.
My only optimism is that he has been studying and planning for this for six months, so should hit the ground running.
I don't understand the wait ? If the media and SKY the BBC have been saying for months it's him
Maybe an option has popped up for somebody else and City are having 2nd thoughts
Pep is still our manager until the end of June, there's no rush for any announcement.I don't understand the wait ? If the media and SKY the BBC have been saying for months it's him

He didn't look well groomed and chilled last night he looked shattered during the gameI'm quite liking the look of Enriques. There's summat rather appealing about ex-Barca players. And just think Enriques 'n Arteta at The Etihad 'n The Emirates.
There's another bald, title winning manager who's just become available.I don't understand the wait ? If the media and SKY the BBC have been saying for months it's him

So why does any club pay a transfer fee for a player?I've ten years experience as Head of Compliance - I sit reviewing contracts all day every day. Why doesn't the player resign then sign for whichever club they want?
