I think you're right in this.Everybody fawning over iriola at Bournemouth like hes the second coming, yes he has the potential to be good but he also has the exact same potential to do a thomas frank at spurs, its a complete 50/50 shot.
I've thought for a while that Brighton, Brentford, Palace and Bournemouth are so well run now that their manager almost doesn't matter. Whoever they sell, the replacement comes in and improves them. The managers change but they stay up. They can get some results off top 6 teams.
Bournemouth never struggle when their best players leave. They seem to bring in managers who improve them. They have a great scouting system and have managed to get into Europe this year despite Semenyo going in January.
Frank left a great club and found spurs to be unmanageable - I think De Zerbi will soon find that out too. Potter left Brighton and found nothing but problems. Glasner will probably be another (if he stays in England) to find that Palace was a great club to manage.
If Liverpool knew they wanted Slot out, they should've had their next man lined up and Alonso was the obvious and fans choice. They let him go to Chelsea and he's been overlooked twice now so can't imagine him going there.
Iraola is also going to have to find that players like Van Dyck will only play the way he wants. He's not going to listen to some manager whos best achievements is being runners up in some cups and helping Bournemouth into Europe.
If Liverpool aren't careful, I suspect next season could be very tricky. Of course, he could get a tune out of them but it's not guaranteed at all.
