Junior Kroupi

Konate has always been bobbins and van Dyke crap since his injury. They needed centre backs before last season started. Joe Gomez back up centre back? Laugh a minute. Never mind, they've got Wellity Lucky coming through.

He’s an excellent player and much more versatile than Marmoush, it’s just whether they think he’s good enough to start in the first 11 alongside Haaland is what I think it comes down too.

If we get to crunch time in the UCL does Kroupi start in that front 3/4.

As has Marmoush....

I'd think that if he's doing that for Bournemouth, he could do it for us at a minimum. You are right though, there's no guarantees.
Firstly, Marmoush hasn't had a decent run of matches but done reasonably well in the cups.

How will Kroupi cope now everyone has seen him and will deal with him accordingly?

If we're still going deep in all competitions, then Kroupi would maybe start 20 matches across all competitions in his first season. Some instead of Haaland, some alongside, plus lots of sub appearances.

If he does well he'd obviously want a bit more game time the following season which could be a problem, but it's be a good problem to have.

I think what has let Marmoush did down is a lack of versatility. Alvarez was good enough to play off the striker in a deeper role and we were led to believe Marmoush could play off the left but that never happened under Pep. If they do not think Kroupi is starter level outside of the striker position I think it’s an avoid. We’re starting to get into a cycle of the back-up striker staying for a season or two because of Haaland and that’s only going to continue, I think the solution has got to be someone that can play in other positions maybe that is Semenyo.

We knew about Kroupi when we played them a few weeks back, he still stuck one in the top corner.

Tbh I've not watched him enough times to be certain, but when we come up against packed penalty areas Marmoush's touch isn't tight enough. I feel like Kroupi would be better in those situations, although that's just a feeling because he doesn't come up against low blocks like we do.

Maresca's formation will be key. What he played at Chelsea and Leicester may be different to what he plays here. I'm guessing that we will have known he was coming for a while and who we have signed could well be with this in mind.
The only way I could see this work is if Maresca played Cherki/Foden off the right and then left Doku/Semenyo to compete off the left.

I just don't see where he fits? He's a centre forward unless he can be changed into a touchline winger?
I guess we try what we did with Marmoush.

Plays up top as Haalands backup but also on the wing.

If Marmoush goes(wouldn’t blame home for wanting to) & Savinho goes (I bloody hope so) we definitely have room for him and a winger.

I’m more confident in him being able to play wide than Marmoush

Unless the view is that he can play off the wings, I think you pass on him for the number Bournemouth are going to want.

At 100m, I would rather City pick up the phone to Leipzig for Diomande. He can instantly provide cover on both wings, and might even be able to cover at striker if necessary.

The year Alvarez was sold he played the most minutes. We tried him everywhere - LW/RW/CAM/ST and off the bench every game he didn’t start.

The reasons he left was the fact his family couldn’t get the correct visas.

There will be plenty of minutes if good enough. Marmoush would have got the same but it’s hard to be the level of Alvarez he’s a brilliant player.

Depends whether Maresca brings different ideas to what he’s done before, always liked his wingers high and wide,Kroupi doesn’t fit that any more than Marmoush does.Savinho is a better fit than either. He may change his system that said.

Savinho has absolutely no end product though. He’s pointless as an attacking player because he doesn’t score or assist.
