I don't use stats to determine how City players perform, or use that to judge their commitment. All stattos are dickheads who only see numbers, not effort. 'I should hold him to the same standard as...'? Why should I? Only sad acts do that. Or Rags. Sometimes a player can play a whole match, score no goals or assists yet still be a massive contribution to the team performance.

A lot of the time, that was Jack. He won more fouls for City that put us in advantageous positions in which we would go on and score from. Where are the stats on that? They don't keep them, do they. Do you doubt he loves this club? Do you doubt he wants to perform well for us and is low on confidence when he feels he hasn't? Do you doubt he wants to progress?

I don't think anybody on any Grealish thread has ever even said that he's one of our greatest or best players. You issue seems to be you hate how other players like Doku, Semenyo or Nunes gets lambasted on other threads yet Grealish rarely does. It's because he doesn't deserve to be, not for those reasons. If people want to criticise Semenyo's performances on Match Day threads, why does that need to also include a bashing of Jack? Doesn't make sense.

You've got it in for a player who's done nothing to you, hasn't had many exceptionally bad performances to warrant your suggestion "I never want to see him in a City shirt again". That's real hatred towards a guy who celebrated our clubs successes like any other Blue would. "He was bang average at best!" you say; Is that Alt-Nouri, Ake, Reijnders, Lewis, Dias or Akanji level of vitriol?

You don't rate him, you've made that clear, but don't be deluded into thinking that those on this thread praising him are saying he's better than Foden, Doku, Haaland or Cherki. We just see his effort, we see his devotion and we want to see him succeed. And speaking of Cherki; I love him, he's a character with tremendous skill, but even he's gone off the ball in recent games a bit, hasn't he. Doesn't mean i'd want him out of the club though, I want to see him back to his best.

Effort? ou can put in all the effort but if you aren't producing as a winger your just not good enough. There is no golden star for effort. Everyone puts in effort at the highest level.

Won more fouls? Thats laughable. That's not a valid stat. Goals and assists are what matter as a winger. Not your ability to draw fouls and certainly you don't spend 100m for someone so they can draw fouls.

I am being realistic, he was an average winger and the stats show it.

Numbers do quite often lie in football. David Silva’s output for us far outweighed his stats in terms of goals and assists, I witnessed him run our games for almost a decade, I don’t need figures to back that up. Grealish was, for probably 2 years, I’d argue half a season either side of the Treble and the Treble season itself, absolutely brilliant.

Nobody doubted him when we lifted the Champions League. That player was still there for Everton and is still there now. We’ve lost creativity and attacking talent, now is a great time for him to have another shot.

Nobody needs to slag other players off, I won’t slag off Semenyo’s output, he’s a different type of player to Grealish and seems to be all end product, whereas Grealish is all about ball retention and link up. Neither is the right way, both are useful options.

That’s your opinion mate, which you’re entitled to. My opinion is that the team’s numbers matter, not individual players & our team numbers whilst Grealish was playing regularly were outstanding

We won the fucking lot with him in the team, so I really don’t think he’s as bad as you’re trying to make out by quoting his goals & assist stats

He was a great outlet for the team as the ball always stuck, was solid defensively, slowed the tempo down, had a great work rate, never gave the ball away cheaply & acted as a metronome on the wing, which made the pitch big to give plenty of space for Gundo to be Mr Whippy

Plus we had Haaland, Mahrez, Gundo, Phil & Kev bagging plenty of goals, so did we really need Grealish to be the type of winger you rate? I’d suggest not & the important stats of what we won would kinda back that up, which carries far more weight than any individual’s stat imo

Just because you have the opinion a winger should score & assist, doesn’t mean he wasn’t a really excellent player & a really important part of our team

If we win every game next season & Haaland only bags 10 goals & 0 assists, would you be slagging him off too or look at the bigger picture of what the team as a whole had won?

the most telling stat for me is that he played 157 times in 4 seasons for the greatest manager football has ever seen, including the entire Champions League winning run. Pep obviously didnt think he was "average".

Everton are looking to sign Jesus but are not willing to pay the 20 million fee.
I cannot see them paying much more for Jack if that is the case.
Hopefully another team might come in for him or an other loan move is on the cards.

And because of that you never want to see him put on a City shirt ever again? Any other members of the current squad you hold in equal disdain you'd like to share? Mediocre defenders? Wasteful strikers?
