Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Thankfully, the background work and analysis on new signings are more about their projected impact, how they improve our team based on their profile and what we currently lack. Not team of the year appearances or how many trophies they have won at their young age.

Agreed

whether we spend 90, 100, 110, 120 on Anderson is a bit small change over the amortisation, an extra 6m difference. We spend probably 5x on laywers (not for much longer) so who cares. 100m is the new 60m

Because it's City the price will have been inflated. They've no doubt remembered that we paid £100m for Grealish a few years ago so think we probably wouldn't flinch at £120.

I don't rate Anderson that highly personally, but then it's not my money or my decision.

£120!

FFS, that is cheap.

I'll pay it myself to get Anderson for City.

When we gave them Ortega for 6 months I always believed it was with this deal in mind. City are incredibly smart

Agree re Ortega (and McAtee), and I also agree City and Marinakis are both very strategic in how they work. These deals rarely happen in isolation IMO. Certain clubs like doing business with each other (Chelsea and Brighton are probably the best example.) Forest and City seem aligned on multi-club ownership, PSR etc so it’s not surprising if they do business in other areas too.

You cant get more important than the engine room. Anderson will be the driver where a massive hole currently exists. So that comment couldn't be further from the truth.

He isn't remotely worth £115 million, this could be another Jack transfer. £60 million is the right price.

60 million for the best midfielder in the league . England international and 23 years old ???

Mate £60 million gets your a load of shit there’s days .

Brighton want £70 million for Paul van Hecke ffs

It's not going to be easy to get a deal done with Forest. They'll be looking to recoup as much as possible because they're going to need to bring in a few players with the profits.

I think it will get done though, and quickly. I don't think we'll mess about, it's important to agree the fee before the World Cup so his stock doesn't rise further.

Not arsed whether it's £80m or £120m personally. Transfer fees continue to spiral and Anderson is worth every penny.
