Rodri was the best midfielder in the world. If we're only buying a player based on whether they're as good as prime Rodri then we wont buy anyone.

This particular understanding is very important. For last 6 years I am trying to see if there is another David Silva or a Yaya Toure or a Aguero and I come empty handed. Years back a whole lot suggested that Lautaro Martinez can be Aguero replacement and I watched Inter for a whole year. Man was I disappointed!

Point being somehow it is impossible to replace players now. Man to man. And the core group of our players in the last decade are irreplaceable and I am talking about the recent decade with Bsilva and Rodri. I am not even going back to your Yayas' and Fernandinhos'.

We need Anderson to win this iteration of the Premier league and Champions league and hesitantly I have told myself we can never get another KDB or Merlin ever so stop mopping on the price or the players capability compared to our previous lots. We got hell of a lucky blues with these generational talents at our door for last 15 years. Won't happen ever again!

£90m down is an incredible offer. Guarantee Arsenal didn't put anywhere near that down for Rice.

I like Tonali but not instead of Anderson. If Rodri is leaving we probably need both. We have to get Anderson, though. Otherwise, we will not challenge for the title next season.

I have often wondered how Forest can have MGW and Anderson and struggle against relegation.

Just to put things into perspective. Anderson's value is almost double what we had bought Rodri for. He is definetly a good player and is what we do currently need but I don't think he is as good as a prime Rodri. Our priorty still has to be is to keep Rodders for this season, regardless the noise that is coming from Real Madrid

Rodri had a release clause, it was years ago and Anderson is English.

Appreciate this isn't the most important factor when signing a player, but I'm a fan of the way Elliott Anderson looks like a proper old-fashioned footballer, who wouldn't look out of place photoshopped into the team pictures of the 1960s along Bell, Lee, Summerbee et al. In fact he reminds me of a modern day version of Tony Book.
