If he was fit he’d be starting every game. He’s better than Ghuei and Khusanov. It would be a genuine blow to lose such a good player in their prime
the drama today from sportske novosti, posted by city xtra, is utter bs, their source is spanish media, not gvardiol’s camp.
i have no idea what gvardiol wants to do but the fact that top clubs want him does not mean he necessarily wants to leave.
plenty of time to shit on him if he leaves, no need to do it now when he literally hasn’t done or said anything about wanting to leave.
This. It's the job of Viana, Soriano and Maresca to do what's needed to keep our top players. If that means a big new contract and others being let go to pay for it, then so be it. If it means giving him assurances over game time, so be it.Gvardiol might be our best all-round footballer, and I think he’s got potential to be ballon d’or quality.
He’s an amazing attacking LB, he’s a great CB and he’s actually technically good enough to play on midfield - probably better than Stones, who was great at doing a hybrid role, if a new manager came in and decided he wanted Gvardiol in midfield full time like Maresca put James in midfield, he could do it. I wouldn’t want him to because I think his qualities make him stand out more in defence, but he could.
Passing (ability and vision), touch etc excellent, good finisher, great mentality, pace, physical.
You just don’t sell that player. Especially when he’s just turned 24 and there’s a bit of a leadership exodus. Of all the players in the squad, he’s one of only a few who will be added to the list of post takeover legends if he stays here another 5+ years.
Do. Not. Sell.
Bonus here is Josko can play both to an extremely high standard. I also prefer him at CB but he is a threat at LB. Really looks like Oreilly copied Joskos playbook in that position.I think Josko is too massive a unit to play LB consistently, AND he's losing too many balls in midfield when he panics in tighter spaces.
I like him as a CB, but as I said I prefer Guéhi with his calmness (except that clownery at Everton, but I didn't see many more poor mistakes).
Josko is a little rash as a personality IMO, it is what it is.
We'll see.
stop making shit up ffs
This seems to be the modern way for newspapers and TV to sell themselves to their audiences.stop making shit up ffs
No chance, all will play but Khusanov will play most and rightly so.Nah. Experienced matter the most, Guehi and Gvardiol.
Fecking Hell !!!This seems to be the modern way for newspapers and TV to sell themselves to their audiences.
In the last fortnight, along with Gvardiol, players such as Trafford, Dias, Ait Nouri , Ake, Reijnders, Savinho, Rodri, Nico G and Marmoush are supposedly all looking to leave.
Even with that list, I've probably missed a few.
You can probably find 20 more and I didn't have anything to do with "making it up"
I want him to stay FFS!

Still maintain that this is a negotiating tactic. and this is one of my reservations in signing Eliot Anderson for big money. Need the funds to pay our stars what they are worth.
Equally important. This might sound insane.. I might get a lot of crap for this..
But I think keeping Gvardiol is more important than keeping Rodri at this point.
