Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

We’ve asked about Gibbs white again as well. He’s got a gentleman’s agreement to leave at 75 million after he wanted to leave last summer, No idea if we do it but we are interested.

Hope you’re right mate but I wouldn’t trust a gentleman’s agreement with anything - Kane lost out on a few PL titles and a CL because of his with Levy.

Didn’t MGW sign a new deal last Summer as part of his u-turn? You’d like to assume his agent included some sort of clause in there but doesn’t seem that way. Unless it was a relegation one.

there is a lot of time for this one, he is not called up to the WC

so I think it would be better to work out the potential outgoings first - Nico, Tijjani etc

I’m at peace with the fee. He’s had 2 excellent seasons at Forest, is a great age, appears to have a mature temperament (that will fit with City’s culture) and he looks like he has the capacity to develop further surrounded by better players.

I’d rate him at least of the level of the 3 or 4 other midfielders that have gone for 100m plus.

Having someone with his mobility and physicality, as well as his quality in our midfield will be a huge asset.

Hope this gets completed quickly now.

It's not my money and the club wouldn't spend it if we couldn't afford to but £100m+ for him is staggering
I don't think it is.
He is generally regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the league, and he tops all of the stats for our midfield needs. He is English and under contract - viola!
I never worry about individual fees though because we are a well-run business, and we could easily generate £60m from academy sales with buy-backs in the next few weeks, let alone first-team sales.

We don’t and it’s a nonsense the people saying otherwise. We want Anderson. He’s top and will improve our first 11.

Is he TOP?

Jury is out, he's had a couple of good seasons.

He may well be but many players have had an outstanding season or two in an average team and never ended up what people thought.

That's the gamble I suppose.

If any of our city fans think that can't happen to us, they're naive or deluded. It absolutely can if we bring in too many players who aren't quite at the required level.

I hope that guy that did the bottle thing doesn't turn out to be our version of the 34/35 years..

Fucker should have listened to Haaland.. STAY HUMBLE!

He did but what I’ve been told , is that it was a gentleman agreement that if an offer from a champions league club came in at 75 million he’d be allowed to leave. Gibbs White and Marinakis have a great relationship, also Marinakis does not like Tottenham so that’s why it fell apart

We’ve asked again because Newcastle want 100 million for Tonali.

I think he looks decent, but I’d be a bit concerned with having basically Nottingham forests midfield.

That’s not a dig at their potential, just that we’d have gone from world class, proven winners to midtable experience.
