England v New Zealand - Sat 6th June, 21:00 | Friendly

I didn't know he was 34!
I reffed him when he played for Darlington. He was sold for £1m to stop Darlington folding. However, George Reynolds pocketed the money and a year later they folded. However, if anyone had told me he would go onto to play in the PL I would have laughed at them.
Same I would say when I reffed Pickford at that level. Was dreadful

Rashford , mainoo , Henderson ,burn and some scouse player ive never heard of should be nowhere near the national squad
Aye.

But Adidas and Nike have made huge adverts with them to promote the World Cup. The one with Bellingham put on a par with Yamal is hilarious, as Jude will believe he is.

Agree 82 was a cracking tournament, I watched as many games as possible, a lot in the pub with my mates. I was 23 then and single, life was just a joy, City were shit but we just accepted the downward spiral we were on and enjoyed the moment.

I’m not expecting much from this tournament, it’s going to be a bit flat in the early stages due to the format but hopefully once the knockout rounds start we get some proper entertainment.
A bit flat ??????
Its gonna be rank easy groups no groups of death ........... all for money yet again ............watering down a major tournament to earn more money the greedy bastards

I think Watkins is a decent player. He ran rings around Dias in our last game.
Dias hadn’t played for weeks in fairness. I think Watkins is an average CF. Time was international football meant you usually needed to be better than average. I think the level of player world wide just isn’t there at the minute, in the technical sense at least.

The fact Dan fucking burn made the squad tells you how bad England are these days.

I don't think the individual matters as much as people make out. We've had plenty of great squads over the years but no team spirit or tactical nous to do anything with the players we had. If you went man for man through the Argentina and French squads last World Cup you'd never have backed Argentina. But they won.

Tuchel wants to play a certain system and if we get injuries wants to ensure we can still play that way, because he sees it as the way England can be successful.

I agree that there are certain players you look at and think "how the fuck is he in there" but most will barely see any game time anyway. Wharton instead of Mainoo - neither will see much action. Slabhead or Burn - same.

I'd personally have made a space for a Palmer or a Foden. If your system isn't working and you're 1-0 down with 10 minutes left they can both do something different. Tuchel's plan B is clearly to either throw Toney or Watkins on and go aerial/direct. Which probably works at International level.

More kids sat on their collective arses playing XBox?

Since we're reminiscing about World Cups past, what were your world cup anthems?

Back Home (England 1970)
This Time (England 1982)
World in Motion (England 1990)

Not an official anthem but Nessum Dorma, just cos

Think Scotland had a rousing one for 1998....

Think vindaloo is tiresome, as is Three Lions, controversially!
