I can understand why politicians want to avoid calling it genocide. But by the time it's been declared a genocide by an international court it's too late to stop the genocide. So for any politician who calls it a genocide their standing goes up.
Plenty of discussion on the Middle East thread about it. Even the organisation founded in memory of the Jew who coined and partly defined the term genocide calls it a genocide.
More importantly my post isn’t about whether it is or isn’t a genocide, it’s about what the bloc of Labour members Burnham needs to vote for him to win a leadership election think it is.
