Using the wonderful new section on Bluemoon, you can look up what the first City match was after you were born.

So what's yours?

I don't often start threads, thought of this one when i was looking for the first home prog after my sister was born (as a bday presie).
So i then looked up my own thinking it'd be good to frame it...
Til i found it was this one -
21dec1974.jpg

Don't really want to frame a weird drawing of Tony and Rodney trying to kill Swales by dropping the fa cup and league on his head, or are they hoping to hit him with the cracker ;)
(Or would the comb over break the impact?!)

The first match we played after i was born was
21/12/1974 - wolves in the league, an exciting 0-0!

I guess i was the curse ;)

(First goal scored after i was born was by Colin on boxing day 74)

Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Couple of days after I was born, 26 August 1978 lost 4-1 to Liverpool.

Was born at 6am on the 3rd of Oct 1964. Later that day we played Rotherham and won 2-1. That was the 11th fixture of that season and funnily enough we finished 11th of the old Div II. Might explain why I was partial to Dennis Tueart later on .

Hmm, our away form wasn't great in this season!

West Ham United vs Manchester City

Obviously those were dark days! 11,931..? Jesus.

Found this in the section on Poyser...

...on 16th January 1965 a record low Maine Road League crowd of 8,015 witnessed a 2-1 defeat to Swindon. It entered folklore as City’s lowest point in terms of support, but incredibly Poyser wasn't even at the ground. Instead he was away scouting – a role he seemed to love. Clearly, his absence had repercussions. At Easter, with form not improving and support remaining low (the highest crowd of the season was only 22,299 – the lowest ‘highest’ crowd since 1898), Poyser was dismissed.

From Easter until the end of the season City were managed by backroom staff, most notably 1934 FA Cup goalscorer Fred Tilson...

Interesting stuff. Good thread.

City vs Middlesbrough on the day i was born so it might not count, we got beat 1-0 but I didn't need the new section for that (its very informative though). So if it's the next match you count, we got beat 1-0 at home - I'm sensing a pattern here...

My dad left the hospital to watch the second half I believe
