The heat was on. And I am sure executive committee members wanted Sepp to step down before the election. But doing that would have given a free path for Ali straight to presidency. If anything this shows that Ali really is clean and wants reform. I am not sure I agree with this insofar as the resignation being planned prior to the election. I imagine the bad publicity of Dr. Evil getting re-elected a day after the indictments and arrests made them consider this course over the past few days.

This implies you think UEFA is clean when there's pretty clear evidence that France and Spain are up to their necks in this as an absolute minimum. The whole thing needs disbanding and starting again.
