FIFA delegates getting their cummupence! Blatter GONE today.

This smacks of, be careful what you wish for. This could end up a lot worse than before.
See Gill decided to keep his seat. Not good. Platini as president, not good.

They were saying on talkSPORT earlier that Platini may have got too close to Blatter over the years which may go against him even if there was nothing shady going on, plus not going up against Blatter in elections may come across as cowardly and not showing signs of a good leader.

Platini couldn't even convince France to vote for Prince Ali on Friday, they voted for Blatter instead.

I reckon Gill has a chance, but to me he just comes across as the classic FA type of man where FIFA will be run to make as much money as possible i.e. a business rather than making the game better overall, plus everything prim and proper etc..

Gill won't be running for Presidency. He's just staying as vice secretary according to SSN.
What that entails, i do not know. secretary for vice ;-)

It's easy to forget with the FIFA scandal and how it all gone wrong for Blatter. People will forget all the good things he's done for the game.

Let's see who the next president is, be careful what you wish for !!

Blatter with such a dignified exit. Don't blame him, he doesn't need the hassle/stress when he go relax on a beach in his last few years banging his beautiful missus.

We need a governing body to run Fifa not one guy, and also the president figure changes every 4 years to stop this corruption happening again, and no platini is not the man he is also a spineless shit who hates england and he was the one who brought in ffp and look how corrupt that is.

I am pleased to understand that no evidence whatsoever has surfaced of any monies from any prohibited or interdicted organization being funneled to and fro and cleaned through FIFA and its world cup circus. No one would imagine such a thing which is why it could not possibly happen. Good.

rejoice, you miserable lot. football is finally entering the 21st century, and a lot of things will change. corporate culture is likely to be the influential model, and that might be a very good thing. one knock on effect is likely to be that UEFA will move away from the all-powerful-presidential model, and the balance of power of the relevant stakeholders will likely be redressed. the focus will to some extent shift to the interests of consumers - i.e fans.

really the best thing they can do is split up/firewall as much of it as possible. there is no justification whatsoever for one central comittee to hold sway over both commercial operations and sporting regulation.

Not a problem, the Sheik has the video of Platini which involves the egg whisk and the flying helmet

I know this to be true, for I have witnessed it. And as for Gill/Twatini/both taking up permanent roles in FIFA, that is exactly what we want to happen. Short of the FBI getting them, it's the best option to get them out of the way of club football.

I hope the book is thrown at them all. What an absolute shambles FIFA have turned out to be. Horrible, corrupt little cunts. Hopefully whoever is elected the new leader has an honest vision for the game with the interests of football at heart.

He's not resigning! He said it himself that he won't stand in the next elections and that until the congress elects his successor, he will stay on and perform his duties as President.
Scala too explained later that a minimum of 4 months notice is required to be given to the congress for an election and that additional time would be required to vet the candidates after they file their nominations.
All of this could take up to a year which I think will give Blatter enough time to cover his tracks!

FBI already have the info i reckon so sweeping his footprint away behind him will not help.
If we do get the major reform also this 4month stuff will not be worth the paper it is written on.
