Blatter had nothing to do with Qatar WC and actively fought against it.
Id be all for a new vote under the conditions that nobody who submitted a bid last time may do it this time.
Cause its all about workers rights isnt it? There should be no problems with that
I think your wrong there: This was taken from 2010
Sepp Blatter backs Qatar cup bid
FIFA president Sepp Blatter yesterday gave his strongest indication that $43 million may have gone up in smoke on Australia's World Cup bid.
Just four months after backing a European nation to land the 2018 finals, Blatter is throwing his support behind Qatar to be the first Arab country to host a World Cup in 2022.
Blatter told a news conference in Doha yesterday he was impressed by Qatar's rapid rise as a major sporting destination and that the gas-rich country had dramatically improved its infrastructure.
"The Arab world deserves the World Cup and Qatar has a good chance to become the first country from the region to host it," Blatter said.
The Australian Government backed Football Federation Australia to the tune of $43 million to land the World Cup in 2018 or 2022.
FFA chief executive Ben Buckley could not be contacted last night because he was travelling back from Doha after attending the Asian Cup draw.
Qatar will host January's Asian Cup, and it is interested in lobbying for the 2022 World Cup.
"I'm a regular visitor to Qatar and every time I land here I am impressed by all the development," Blatter said.
Qatar hosted the Asian Games four years ago.
"It is a big event in which men and women compete in 30 different sports and the fact Qatar held it successfully means its organisational abilities cannot be questioned," Blatter said.
Blatter is one of 24 men on the FIFA executive who will hand down a decision in December on the winning 2018 and 2022 bids.
Blatter's latest comments are concerning for Australia.
"What matters are the guarantees the bidding country has to offer and, on that count, I have no doubt that Qatar will put on the table all that is needed to host the event," he said.
