Although the new South Stand is going to look superb next season we are still going to have to share it with the away fans unlike the Kop, Stretford End and other 'ends' I don't see that changing anytime soon so it will again be down to our fans to make the away support invisible the best we can. 1894 are doing some fantastic stuff and long may it continue. Will fans on the 3rd tier be allowed to hang flags along the edge, take flags up in to the higher areas, the stand has a great chance to become a a fantastic sight for our players and also a chance for noise levels to reach a level never reached before at 'ever game' I would love to see the the massive flags out on CL nights being passed down the tiers Or just one of the large ones. Roll on August it's going to be some sight.

IMHO, opening the new South Stand should recognise Sheikh Mansour. Maybe a massive image in the third tier - possibly the Lamborghini cartoon with MP!

Agreed. It should be 100% ours. Sharing with visitors isn't on the agenda at major clubs and we should be making our territory as intimidating as is possible, not that this sick old man will be part of it! It also upsets me to see large areas of empty seats which aren't taken up by visitors and it is embarrassing considering we are expanding the stadium. If it was feasible then I would have preferred them to be at a corner of the CB stand, well out of the way of TV cameras and they could probably be stewarded better there as they would be less likely to be near those who consider confrontation more important than the game.

Agree with you about the CB but then you are putting fans out who have sat their for 10 years, it's difficult to please everyone really is it? I am in 308 with my flag every week and join in with the singers up in our our and yes we have a great little group which I think will get even better now we have away fans moving up into the 3 rd tier area.
I wonder what the club will do when 600 away supporters turn up 'top, middle or bottom' ? What are people's view on where they should go?
And more interesting the FA Cup draw in Dec comes up with Manchester City v Millwall !!!! Do they get Level 1+2 and the 3rd empty anyone any idea what might happen there?

We've only done it when the away team have chosen to change ends in my recollection, I think we should consider changing it now though.

We should also consider only selling the away tickets from back to front, and the leftover front tickets will be City, though if we don't sell out (a possibility given the increase in numbers, and the match day prices), then there will likely be empty seats at the front.

It will be interesting to see how the club market it, but having had faith in the club operators for the last few years I am sure the best option will be chosen.

There's enough empty seats in the family stand, so put the away fans there.........

It should be a no brainer to put the aways in from top to bottom.
Depends on the clubs worries about empty seats, if the away team don't sell out (regular these days) then we have to take up the empty seats, with already so many extra fans each week there may not be the demand apart from the biggest games. Reverse it and sell from front to back, and nobody would see our empty seats at the back. Also if they use the same pricing structure as they will for home fans, we keep the cheapest tickets in level three, for City fans, so easier to sell.

The key is to make the away area as narrow as possible along the three tiers at least for the sake of optics. It would be nice to have the whole south stand for our fans only but I think that will be the case, obviously, when the North Stand is completed.

Something like this - about right for the old Charlton midweek games
