Making the South Stand our own

Something like this - about right for the old Charlton midweek games

Come on who's that ? Outnumbered by stewards.

Always find it strange that City prefer to attack the North Stand in the second half.

Agreed.

Someone once said it's in relation to how the team come out of the respective dressing rooms, ie the Away teams is on the right hand side when coming onto the pitch.

However, I would have thought the fair play handshake scuppers that idea as they could go either end from there. It must just be a preference of the team.

I still think City should move the away fans into the Colin Bell, fans get moved all the time so it shouldn't be too much trouble for our club to sort this out. Keep the away fans out of the picture from the TV and it will also quieten them down when playing in Europe.

The new stand is an opportunity to sing songs where different parts. Of their ground sing their part e.g. SS third tier could chant Yaya whilst the Kippax and new singing section chant Kolo Toure.

Maybe not a great example but hopefully Blues get the drift!

as im in 316, anyone near there SORRY for the swearing in advance, but I will stand and sing

I really don't get why some of you want quiet, invisible away fans - that will detract from the atmosphere not add to it. Think of the atmosphere when about 150 Fulham fans turned up and barely opened their traps for 90 mins. Personally I prefer seeing and hearing the away fans, they're an important part of English football's culture and rising prices and attitudes like we're seeing on this thread are in danger of ruining that.

Another way around the problem without relocating visitors is to paint or install seats in that area a neutral colour eg black or white and then it becomes obvious to TV viewers that this area exists for visiting fans only and if they can't be bothered turning up, that's not our problem.

The good ol' away fans argument I see..

Tbf, I don't think most teams will be filling the 3 tiers/most of their allocation apart from the likes of liverpool, chelski, scum, spurs, arse, s'ton etc.

I think we should make the atmosphere better as a whole by turning down that bloody music pre kick off for a start. Just increase the standing singing section that we already have (which we're bound to next season as the idea has certainly caught on), add aload of flags, banners etc. And IMO, shuffling in to the game ten minutes after kick off doesn't help things either.

I'll be becoming a south stander season card holder (up to now I've been mainly east stand, for what matches I could get to). Really hoping that the SS forms a solid singing block. It would change the atmosphere of the entire stadium, in my opinion.

I think we did in another game as well, I was sure we did in a Lge game but it might have been a cup game. I just think it would make a huge difference when they kick off the 2nd half, just not sure why we never have.

Think it was notts county who made us play towards the north stand in the 1st half.

I'd have loved the south stand to be all City. All the fans stood up making a racket behind the goal would have been fabulous.
I think the police have a say where the away fans sit but i agree, Most clubs dont even have the away fans visible, we must be the only team in europe to share and offer away supporters our 'main stand' over 3 tiers.
