How do you know that?

Hi Moomba....just my opinion mate! Your right tho..they might take a lower offer but they have time on there side and they might be willing to wait all summer to get the right price....I would be surprised if City happy to wait until deadline day and miss a full pre-season of working with this kid. Liverpool already rejected a 40mil offer and have a 50mil valuation (if reports are true)....so it would look like we are negotiating over 10mil at present...

Y
The club are teasing us along here aren't they?. Never known us take so long to get our targets in, and at this rate we'll still be fannying about come 31st August. I just wonder if Txiki is nowhere near Garry Cook at negotiating for players. With Cook it was boom, boom, player signed, no messing about, with Txiki it seems to be " right shall we put a bid in or not".
You've been a member, under this username......for 2 weeks.....and,in that time, you've done nothing but whinge and fucking whine about our transfer policy.....people are sick of reading your negativity so,do us all a favour, and change the fucking record.

Our club is in the very best hands,if deals can be completed they will be done so on terms we are happy with and they will be announced when the time is right.

Let's just hope this deal gets done before Saturday he can have a look around Manchester for some houses over the weekend then fly out on tour with the Squad next week...Wishful Thinker

His accommodation will be sorted by now mate.

We have teams of staff that sort everything out for players these days.

The amount of rags on these threads is laughable, don't they enough at their own club to worry about such as buying a decent back five, a couple of midfielders and some strikers. Oh and a huge debt and owners who take out and don't put in. If any lurking red shite want to come back to me feel free...

MUEN....

Manchester City are confident of completing a £50m Raheem Sterling deal in time to take the Liverpool youngster on their pre-season tour.

Sterling, named the most valuable young player in Europe, returned to Liverpool training on Monday but is still determined to leave the Anfield club.

City have had two bids rejected for the 20-year-old already but are apparently confident of securing a deal in time for Sterling to join them on tour.

The Blues will face Adelaide United in a behind-closed-doors friendly on July 15 before they kick-off their official tour against sister club Melbourne City three days later.

Paris Saint-Germain will compete with City for Wolfsburg playmaker Kevin de Bruyne, even though the Bundesliga runners-up opened talks with him over a new contract on Monday.

Sad I know; quoting my own post but after a few glasses of nice California Merlot, I remember where I first heard the word "unfeasibly" as it is not at all used over here in the Colonies. Sorry about the large image though...

With him being named the most valuable young player...another desperate attempt by Dipper media to get the desired £50 mill?

You're on the list.

This one is the strangest for me.

I have no doubt whatsoever that Sterling is coming to us. Out of the 3 big targets lined up, he is the most certain I believe.

I also fully support the club being prudent and looking to ensure we get the player at the right price and don't allow clubs to inflate the market simply because we have cash (or the perception that we have loads of cash as per the pre-FFP discourse).

However, we are (in my opinion) going to end up paying 50 million or as very close to that figure taking into account the smaller details. I thus see no genuine reason why this transfer is taking this long to complete. We made two formal bids. We likely knew Liverpool's valuation prior. We will certainly have been told by Liverpool and his agent that this is a done deal subject to a specific fee. We are obviously willing to pay this fee otherwise we would not have entered negotiations for such a high profile young player.

I suspect this deal will be done within the next 10 days - and ultimately that is all that matters. He is (in my opinion) worth 50 million in the current market. He is the best young talent in Europe. He has carried a huge football club on his back for 12 months post-Suarez / Sturridge and needs a fresh challenge after a mental and physical burn out towards the end of last season. His potential is phenomenal. He cut through our defence so easily during the title winning season when they pushed us very close. And his composure to finish showed maturity and emotional intelligence of a 28 year old world class player. I think he will be a huge success at city.

I just fail to see the logic in the announcement that we have agreed a 50 mil fee or a fee undisclosed but believed to be very close to that figure when we could have sealed this deal in a shaper more robust fashion. Again, just my opinion.

I think City agreed this deal a while ago. The posturing is for the dipper fans to feel like they haven't just rolled over. Both clubs have brand image to protect and neither would want the fiasco of a Lescott type move. They get their men in and we get our man in time for Australia.
We need to consider Milner seeing out his contract here. It's been well media managed and pretty low key. Why have a gun fight over these deals when the real movers and shakers can sort this over a fine fillet at Gauchos like businessmen rather than excitable impatient fans.
Build it and they will come....

Guys the deal was done weeks ago.
The reason for the delay is down to the money QPR are owed as a result of the sale and how the money will be distributed accordingly. I think they are owed 20% of any sell on.
I understand from sources that work within Liverpool that the deal was agreed in principle 2 weeks ago which is why Liverpool went on a large spending spree.
The fee being touted is £46m in total. It is now a matter of time with personal terms agreed in principle although not signed.

That could easily be a good summation of where it's at. What's playing out in the media is not the full picture. If we get him for £40m plus add-ons we will have done well.

But if your opinion is wrong, and we can get him cheaper than £50m then surely it is logical to do that.
