That's a good point, suspect it's part of their strategy and they can come back in the future and say he was a spoilt brat. After all who would want to leave the dippers a club with so much istree.

Even we couldn't afford to to that with Yaya/Tevez. Think it'll be agreed barring medical by Thursday.

£50 million is alot to pay for a guy who has lost his form alarmingly,been ruined by the gutter press and ex players,hope hes of strong character and thick skinned to get through this ordeal,if we do get him pellegrini and co are going to have to show good man management here,but will we take this risk at the premium the scousers are asking?

I think he's shown a bit of character already by not being brow-beaten by Rodgers and the Scouse "legends" - Rodgers has handled the whole saga very badly from a man-management viewpoint.
 
We need to get this wrapped up quickly now. He's done his part and is receiving all kinds of abuse for it we need to get the money down on the table and get him here ASAP.

This transfer signifies that Manchester City FC are now a bigger football club and a better proposition for the best young players in Europe. History and culture of course are important - but nostalgic romanticism of the past prevents dealing with the realities of the present and future. Liverpool selling Suarez to Barcelona is one thing. Fans can rationalise that. But losing their best talent produced in years and one of the best young players of his age in European football to another English club is a real statement of where they are as a football club. And for us it represents a significant statement - that we are the club for the best young players to come to in England (who traditionally went to Utd or Arsenal). That is a significant development from the early Mansour days.

Interestingly - the self deception doesn't stop there. Some of their fans have genuinely convinced themselves as part of this coming to terms with reality process that Sterling is now over rated, and not even as good as Jordan Ibe. Phenomenal levels of bad faith.

Really looking forward to this boys first game for us. He's going to be immense and all the squabbling over the fee and how long it's taken to happen will be forgotten in the time it takes him to skin his first full back and lay it on a plate to Sergio..
 
I bet Jordan Ibe is shitting himself after seeing how Sterling has been treated for wanting to leave. Hope hes enjoying being at the club, he'll be expected to stay for his whole career.
 
I hope its done quickly but i doubt it will happen any time soon. We bid sometime this week they reject it. Then were back to square 1 all over again. Until the deal is announced then there will always be a part of me thinking it wont happen.

Add in that last season his starts are pretty good when you take the rest of the Liverpool shit show in to account. No competent strikers to finish moves, being played out of position etc.
