I've no problem in principle paying Sterling 200k if it were actually true but i'm 99% sure it's just made up shite from nowhere. Considering we've spent the last 2 years renegotiating contracts of our biggest earners and best players to reduce their basic wage and pad them out with huge bonuses i don't see why we would go against all of that work and offer him that kind of money, it would mean having to increase the wages of the likes of Aguero Silva Yaya etc. Then you've got the problem of what happens when he does well and in a few years time we look to reward him with a new contract and ultimately bigger wages? There's no way Txiki has been that daft. Sterling's desperate to come here, he's said it's not about the money but about trophies and he's currently on 35k, i fully expect Txiki has played this right, used that to our advantage and offered him a relatively modest basic wage to start with.
Going purely off the contracts we've renegotiated and the way we work i'd like to think Sterling would be on at the absolute top end, half of that made up figure as a basic wage but he'll have incentives and bonuses to bolster it and he'll probably have some kind of yearly progression where his wages are increased to coincide with him becoming even better and hopefully becoming more and more crucial to our team.
