Leeds at it Again

I've obviously missed something here, but since when have Frankfurt ever had a reputation as bad as Leeds (who let's be honest, were the maddest of the mad in the mid 80s)
I've been to 4 Frankfurt games in the last 3 seasons, and I've never even heard so much as a fart, never mind a fight.
Now we get the Karate Kid up against Fatty Fred from Featherstone.

Eintracht Frankfurt are one of the worst clubs in Germany for football violence.

Might be a case of local scrotes from the area learning that a group of "English" men were coming over for the match, so they saw this as an opportunity to vent their anger.
Next week they might play a fellow German club and not even bother walking down the road to watch it.

Most neutral sources are blaming this almost entirely on Frankfurt fans. Those of us who remember Elland Road from the 70s, 80s and 90s will find it hard to believe.

There are always two sides to a coin...we do have some real idiots following us and so have Leeds.

Leeds fans were obviously pretty drunk and throwing insults at the Frankfurt Fans, but to be honest from the pictures it looks like those Frankfurt Fans were prepared for a clash. At least I know that I usually dont bring a ski mask to a football match in the summer...

German fans are not stupid and do know about the reputation of English fans and Leeds/Millwall in particular. So I can imagine that some of our fans got excited to meet them...

That stupid "Riot Champions 2011" banner was actually a bad attempt to take the piss out of the press which was blowing up every single flare as a full blown riot in that season. The banner itself was obviously pretty stupid considering the pitch invasion on the previous matchday against Cologne.

Just for reference...I just read a statistic the other day that everybody's favourite fans from Dortmund (yes that was sarcasm) had a much worse record with the police last season than the self proclaimed riot champion.

The ski mask and long shorts are an, er, "interesting" look!

That would make sense because a couple of seasons ago our train from Hamburg to Dusseldorf was diverted down an industrial line, because, (according to the Guard), some Dortmund fans had rioted on a previous train.

The senior Police Officer in charge of the "ahem" security for the match laid the entire blame of the confrontation at Eintracht's door. Was looking to blame the clubs for organising the friendly at such a shite venue. Said the majority of the fighting broke out when a section of the Leeds fans decided to stand their ground. Lots of comments deriding the Elland Road massive early in this thread and I know what dispicable wankers they can be having spent many a day in Leeds (Elland Road tunnel) and on Platt Lane fighting with these berks (the good or bad old days however you remember it) but this could easily have been us on tour playing them and the result would have been the same.

How about that as a screen saver Jim ?

the leeds fans were clearly the ones attacked. The frankfurt fans would never try that at leeds.

Well we will never know who and why it started. Its a shame what has happened and 90% of Frankfurt fans are pretty vocal about getting those "Fans" banned.

Found it a bit funny though that the fat guy who got floored mentioned in an interview that the leeds fans only just wanted to get over to the Frankfurt fans to congratulate them on the win. Yeah right....;)

based on the photos it looks like a load of ski mask wearing frankfurt fans attacking leeds fans. that was pretty funny :D
