Never been impressed with him Period. Switzerland or Wolfsburg. He comes across as bang average with set piece skills. In short, he is Kolarov.

I have heard people call him the Bundesliga's Leighton Baines, I never really knew if that was supposed to be a compliment or not

Okay, I might have slightly overstated his averageness :) But I don't find him impressive at all.

I can see where the Babies comparison comes from. Both can cros a ball pretty well and hit dead balls like few can. But Baines is cerebrally superior in my eyes. Moves better and makes better decisions with the ball.

Rodriguez is just meh. Not bad, but not special either.
 
Rodriguez is a good player, not as bad as some have made out. I can see the comparisons to Baines but I think one of the reasons people have hyped him so much, is because in general the Bundesliga isn't blessed with that many good left backs period. Especially with Alaba being moved into midfield; Baba has for me been the best last campaign.

Only cause Borghi (Couch before Sampaoli) dindt want to call up him. And when Sampaoli noticed it, was already too late... gone.... had alredy played for Switzerland....

PS: His young brother can now also play for Chile. Was in the media there some speculatiosn about a call up

Ok, hes not the best worldclass winger in the world, I know, but the guy really fight his ass off to fill the role and is not a bad player at all.

He was also a week ago in talks with SEVILLA, but failed to sign due to the 10m Euros Juventud wanted for him ....

Isla always seems to be a player who is fantastic for Chile but not great for his clubs. Something about playing for Chile makes your national team up thier game.

Specially, I we want to finish the KDB transaction. I really do not see City spending 150mil in new players this year,,,,

Yeah, same thing with Vargas. I think, thats about Sampaoli who play a father-like role in our national squad, so that those players display such a good performance maybe only in a Chile shirt. IMO.

In fact he was BETTER THAN ZABALETA all the Copa America (more goals netted too), thats has to bring us to some reflexion too, about the quality of the cover (players) we have in this position.

Or not?

If he is so good why then Juventus want to sell him? He is not better than Zabaleta, even when the Zabaleta is injured.

I don't really care how people play for their country, it's very rarely representative of how good they are and far more about how well drilled a system they have. Isla played for QPR last season and was shite and they were relegated. I know your Chilean so love all things Chile, but if you honestly think we should use a foreign spot on a 27 year old guy who was in and out of a side that got relegated last year, then I don't even know what to say
