i have a Synaptics Touchpad and now I have installed windows ten it won't work. It also won't let me uninstall it.

Luckily I have a touch screen laptop so I have some usability. But I'm stumped.

Sorry guys, forgot to say. I installed it on device manager (hadn't heard of it until I read it on this thread), then rebooted and it worked a treat. Thanks

If you have a Sony PC or laptop running Win 7 or earlier do NOT upgrade to Win 10 as Sony are only upgrading drivers for Win 8 or 8.1 and you would have to uninstall and revert to your existing O.S.

If you have a Sony Vaio which was pre-installed with 8.1 you wont get drivers until October, if Win 8 was pre-installed you'll have to wait until November. Presumably Win 7 will come later. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/sony-vaio-windows-10-update,news-50989.html

Why the manufacturers seem to have waited until launch to start work on drivers is strange to say the least.

If you have a laptop I wouldn't bother for the first 6 months.

It doesn't look as if they plan to upgrade drivers at all for pre-Win 8 operating systems.

Please note that Sony is currently not planning on providing an upgrade procedure, nor drivers and utilities, for older models which were released with Windows 7 or previous versions of Windows

Well that's a "that's unbelievable Jeff" moment. I'm mean just WTF is their reasoning (beyond greedily forcing you into buying a new laptop).
