I struggled to uninstall it this morning, it kept saying it wasn't possible.Mine too, uninstalled and revertd to orginal driver through device manager - worked for me.
If you have a Sony Vaio which was pre-installed with 8.1 you wont get drivers until October, if Win 8 was pre-installed you'll have to wait until November. Why the manufacturers seem to have waited until launch to start work on drivers is strange to say the least.
If you have a laptop I wouldn't bother for the first 6 months.
Well that's a "that's unbelievable Jeff" moment. I'm mean just WTF is their reasoning (beyond greedily forcing you into buying a new laptop).It doesn't look as if they plan to upgrade drivers at all for pre-Win 8 operating systems.
Please note that Sony is currently not planning on providing an upgrade procedure, nor drivers and utilities, for older models which were released with Windows 7 or previous versions of Windows
