Why have we been written off?

I cannot wait for the season to start, I'm nervous but growing more optimistic about our chances of winning the league or at least finishing 2nd again.

However all of the press, social media and YouTube fan channels (not mcfc fan channels), they're writing us off. I've even heard some predictions we could finish 7th!!! (Haha). But my question is, why are we being written off? Great goalie, a strong midfield when everyone's fit and a forward line of sterling, aguero and silva... The only 'weakness' is the defence and to be honest (forget about the Stuttgart friendly) I think it's been highly exaggerated, it isn't as bad as people say. I'm not getting down about what people are saying I'm just wondering what you guys think about this, and why exactly we are now seen as a weaker force.

Anyway roll on Monday!!! Let's prove these wallys wrong!!!! COME ON CITY!!!!!

They do it every year these "experts", forget how many times Arsenal (even Liverpool last season) have been crowned Champions before a ball has been kicked even though they never address the problem they are too lightweight. Apparently now signing Cech sorts out their soft core and makes them champions!

Even more laughable is the rags, only one decent striker at the club but it is totally airbrushed out of existance. They lose their best player from last two seasons and have made really underwhelming signings, but they too Champions in some "experts" eyes!

Over the last four seasons we are the only club to not finish outside the top two. We have improved over the summer so only a total and utter cretin would predict a finish lower than second, as for saying we won't finish top four, on what logic is that based?

Based on previous years and signings the most logical prediction is Chelsea, City, Arsenal, shite.

As for David "City were lucky to win two titles" James, just remember this is a man whose opinions and choices in life have left him bankrupt.

Ignore them mate, it's either hatred or just pure deluded nonsense.

Even some of our fans have. It's because a lot of people still undeerestimate how good a side we are.

We are going to shove it up a lot of people's arses this year.

It's because they don't WANT us to do well. So when there are a few weaknesses in our side, they roll with it and accentuate them.

That team, right there, is so bloody strong that Yaya Toure, club legend, and one of the best CM's the premier league has ever seen will struggle to get in the starting line up.

That team, right there, is going to win the league, reach the Champions League Semi-Final (and from there, who knows!?), and win a cup.

No other team outside of Spain and Munich can compete with that. And if we bring in one or two more faces on top of that before the window closes? Jeeeez!

We have been written off by an avalanche of jealousy and bitterness from the pundits, take little or no notice of them, the bookies have us as second favourites it'll cost them money giving us long odds so they aren't going to go out on a limb like the tossers in the media.

We've been written off because I think people were expecting us to buy big (as in already top class stars) and we haven't. And a lot have looked at last season and think that's where we are now, well short in all comps, out of all with at least three or four rounds to go but that doesn't mean it wasn't a dip rather than our new trajectory. They're discounting us getting back to our best again because it either fits their stance or they haven't looked into us that deeply. Simple as that really.

People have seen United and Liverpool have gigantic drops in league places in the last two seasons and think "well if City aren't buying Godin Pogba and Bale then they'll do the same thing" or they're just winding up the people in our media thread because I'm certain they do that on purpose after coming in here and reading it some days.

We haven't handled the pressure of expectation in the past though, as favourites or champions we've often come up short.

So me suits me fine all this.

We can ignore anyone saying we'll finish seventh or outside the top four from the media, they're laughable, but we can also ignore people from our own fanbase who are saying we'll walk the league this season because they're also living in the same world as those in the media completely writing us off.

I'm afraid I'll jinx it if I say we won't finish outside the top 2. I'm confident however that Liverpool, Spurs and United won't finish in the top 3.

The things they throw at us

FFP-fixed
English players-fixed and taking the best english young talent annoyed the fuck out of them and to a lesser degree Delph
Never promote youngsters-fixed
Mp dead man walking=fixed

All they have left is to try and put doubt into the players and fans minds

If we have players who are so weak to allow the media to cast doubt in their minds, let's get to the Transfer Forum and have a thread about selling every one of those players.

Great point - however, aren't you jumping the gun a bit with one of those names? Or is there something I should know?
