Can't wait to see some of the pictures from tonight! I can just imagine what the stadium will be like on European nights now - especially when the send 'end' is completed!

Very interested to see that the seats in the new tier are not joined together like the rest of the stadium - all the other seats share a connecting post so the space between people in the upper tiers is significantly improved.
For anyone unsure (such as @jrb on SSC!), the cable running across the top of the stand is the cable net which supported the old South Stand roof.
This cable is in a loop around the whole ground and needs to be retained to ensure the existing roof on the other stands stays fully supported.
The new stand was designed completely around this 'limitation'. The cables come through the gap between stand & roof from outside, meaning it would be completely impossible to make the stand any taller than it currently is.
so there's gonna be a cable hanging down all season>

Its the cable holding the rest of the roof up.... I wonder how long it'll be before someone throws something over it[/QUO
Does that mean impossible with the current roof, or impossible regardless?
It's already high, but I'm curious if the current 3rd tier could be replaced with a less steep angle, and then a fourth tier added more or less at the same pitch as the current 3rd tier (if that makes sense?) - obviously extending even further back, but as stands go, City isn't ever too far from the pitch.
Alternatively, is that donkey's years down the line, as we still have the CB and East Stands with expansion opportunity?

They needed a minimum number of attendees, if tickets had been free it would be easy to get them and not attend thus the event would not satisfy the requirementsI don't know if it's been mentioned previously but doesn't the test event have to be a paid event? Hence why it's only £3 going to CITC.
Impossible with the original roof and cable net in place.
The build is at the absolute limit the height of the old supports allow. You can see it here in this pic.

Bicycle tyre! It's a classic.A pair of trainers anyone
I get ya (I think), it's literally a hoop with it tensioned / held in place by those lower cables disappearing just below the roof?
And I'm guessing it's a very specific angle they pull at in order to tension it laterally, and support it vertically (I think).

Not sure about a chicken!A chicken ?
