Champions League Draw & TV Pairings

Yes Juve were finalist last season but were struggling to get out of the group prior to that. This season they have:
Not Tevez
Not Pirlo
Not Vidal
Not Lloreinte
Lengthy injuries
And still trying to integrate a bunch of new players into this squad to find their new identity
If Udinese can get a victory at their ground we should be able to as well.

Yes it's impressive Sevilla that they won Europa League back to back we shouldn't be scared of the 5th best team in Spain. Champions League is a different beast. Everton and Spurs routinely go far in EL. Comp is a lot weaker compared to regular CL clubs.

Borussia Mönchengladbach lost one of their better players to Wolfsburg and are also dealing with injuries to key players. Also they just aren't as good this season.

All in all media will hype it up as some group of death blah blah but the real group of death is between Real Madrid and Barca's groups.

We have the toughest group. We can win it. We can struggle, Juve and Sevilla have recent experience of getting to a final in European Competition, Seviila as winners. Also never under estimate a German team. What may be the redeeming feature is that teams will take points off each other. So we go in confidently but again the Draw has not been kind.

Whoever suggested that the draw should be open and not seeded needs to have a word with themselves!!!
Imagine the group the rags would get.
It'd be them and 3 teams made up from window cleaners and office workers.
I told the rags at work that they'd get Brugges, they did. I told them they'd get psv (I think they're called that because the team probably drive buses and coaches for a living), they did.
They won't have it that it's bent.
It's like rolling a pair of dice and getting double six every time. It just wouldn't happen.

Cheers guys.
Gladbach fan here.

We certainly couldn't have drawn a tougher group but that's something we do anyways, given that we hardly ever have luck in draws.
Anyways, Borussia fans were celebrating the draw and we rather play big name clubs competing in the champions league(which isn't a given for us) then going to Russia and facing those teams with dozens of brazilians bought by oil money.
So it should be fun and we'll be able to visit great stadiums while bringing a bunch of fans(a couple years ago we had 10.000+ in Rome, last year nearly 10.000 at Zurich) to those games.

Gladbach will be that banana peel. This year's CSKA Moscow. To their credit, they weren't too far away from Wolfsburg last year.

Well, we've been the best team of the Bundesliga during the 2nd half of the season last year.
Though, we also lost Kruse and Kramer while Stranzl(the old men is important to us) and Dominguez(back) haven't played for us this season.
The start to the season has been crap(still searching for that balance between offense and defense) and we'll need to start collecting points to take some pressure of the team.

BTW: It seems no one's talking about us or expect anything of us for this group.
Really like it, given that we're at our best being a bit of an underdog.
If you guys put four on us people will just shrug their shoulders and say, well that was to be expected, but we'll be able to sit back and play the counter attack with Herrmann, Traore, Raffael, Hazard, Hahn etc. like we do against Bayern.

Also, we still got business with Sevilla, who we should've beaten in the round of 32 in last years europa league campaign.

Here's a nice video about the atmosphere at Borussia Park.

Pirlo, Vidal and Llorente weren't so important for them last season. They reached the final thanks to Tevez, mainly, their defense and Marchisio (a very underrated player).

firstly, i think it's a tough group, all the away games look pretty hard, but we should have the ammo to get through

Again teams from the 4 toughest leagues in Europe in one group and we are in it. It's hardly a surprise anymore we got the toughest group from all PL-teams ever since we entered this fake competition. But at least it's against opposition we haven't met before in the CL and on paper they all look very interesting. We can win this group, but there will be not a single easy game (home and away) to look foreward to.
Juventus is strong, but maybe not as strong as last year? Wild guess and they might still get a few players in.
Sevilla always seems to do well in Europe and especially at home. They just signed Llorente who will be a handfull.
BMG I think is another one not as strong as last year when they played better than they actually are imo. But than again ... Germans ...
Well see.

Glass half full for me. Pleased we avoided Barca and Bayern. Its a difficult group but its the first time that I've felt we could top the group. The other teams will take points off each other, might not need a big total to win it or finish 2nd.

Its the sort of group which, if we win it, will have served our education process very well.
