Simon Curtis - A good read...

He's comfortably the best City writer out there, and a very nice chap too.

I`ve been reading his City articles for a bit there, the other writer is also quite good David Mooney...

£17bn; it's hard to get your head around just how much money that actually is, and what you can do with even a small fraction of it. SEVENTEEN THOUSAND MILLION POUNDS. And, I presume, his fortune isn't dwindling too quickly. Thank you HRH.

i read a while ago that the entire fortune of his family is over 700bn euros YES BILLIONS that's madness!!!!

Simon Curtis has been writing very amusing City stuff for years. Second only to John Burfield in my opinion.

The lasting legacy of the FFP rules is that no matter how well we perform on the pitch and off it with commercial deals, in some eyes we will forever be seen as cheats. Which is why I was so disappointed that the club decided to be pragmatic about it and "take the pinch" rather than fight. Taking the pinch was supposed to be better in the long run. I don't think that is the case. We still talk about Arsenal buying their way into the top flight almost a century after it happened. We still talk about keeping the rags in business when we blocked Manchester Central's entry into the league. People will still be talking about dodgy deals and cheating ffp for a long time.

I know what you mean but we may as well take comfort in the fact that it's a lie that they choose to believe and, in doing so, they're only gonna be hurting themselves.
And also, we'll be quite dead far too soon enough. So it won't be us listening to the bile.

City were in the right place at the right time. The loophole of all loopholes opened. As far as the detractors go.... what can you say, haters gunna hate.

All that is true...but there was also something about the club that was attractive to our owners. We should never forget this. Yes we won the lottery but so did the Sheik.

Very true. City's was an undervalued asset as a club if ever there was one at time. The potential for success was there and the fan base to support it.
