Players getting clobbered

Well some refs would be wrong then, the tackle from behind that gets a red is when the tackler goes through the back of a player's legs, not a trip.
Are you for fucking real ?? You`re arguing with everyone just for the sake of it and irrespective of whether a ref is right or wrong, the fact remains that Mangola was very lucky and once again I use the word COULD not SHOULD.

Thought Mangala's tackle was 'good' in the taking one for the team perspective. Nip the Palace attack in the bud at the halfway line and take the booking. It was a cynical tackle as he knew what he was doing, but it was not dangerous, kept his legs low and had control of his body.

In contrast, Dann was in control of nothing and was very rash. If he'd seen red he can't have had any complaints.

The thing that pissed me off more than the challenge, was the way their fans celebrated when Aguero went down the second time. I could understand to a degree, if he was a horrible shit like Costa, but Aguero is normally well respected by fans in general. He is pictured somewhere giving a young Palace a high five before the game, a few weeks ago he was applauded for showing concern for the fan at Everton, yet most of the stadium cheered the fact he looked seriously injured.

Yes I'm for fucking real. It's not a fact, it's your opinion. My opinion is that a red was not ever likely given I've never seen anyone sent off for the type of challenge Mangala made unless it was a second yellow or prevented a clear scoring opportunity.

It was a tackle that was deliberately meant to hurt Sergio no doubt imo. Aimed for the knee and got him.
Very much like the assault on Samir at Newcastle, guess who was the manager that day, yes Mr headbutter he's an arsehole.

Players get kicked all the time. The Aguero one was bad, but you see tackles like that a lot, the problem was that he actually caught Aguero straight on the knee. Dan didn't mean to catch Aguero's knee, he just stuck his leg out. Like I said, it's part of football.

He didn't just stick his leg out though. It was a conscious kick to the player at a certain area that would definately stop his progress. And that I think is the reason a different colour card should have been shown. It was a deliberate attempt to stop the quicker more skillful player by any means.

To be honest, that Dann "tackle" looked like the sort of tackle you see when looking at old videos of defenders kicking Pele or Maradona out of games. It was so much more forceful, high and late to be even considered just a cynical foul or mistimed, it was pretty clearly just an attempt to injure him, knowing that he'd skinned him. Only in full speed do you see how excessively forceful it was, it was a disgraceful kick. You don't accidentally swing your foot at knee height

It was definitely premeditated ,& deliberate. Everybody in the ground knew it. Rarely have I seen Pellers so angry, after an incident.

Thought he was going to chin pardew.

But what was worse is that Pardew then does an after match interview with the BBC, proclaiming that it was a shame about Aguero, 'cos Palace weren't a dirty bunch of cynical b*st*rds, with a completely straight face.

It's a red card all day long as it is violent play. Dann deliberately kicked at Sergio, knowing full well that he wasn't gonna get a toe nail on the ball! He was intent on taking him out. Too many times does a red card get downgraded by incompetent whistling wankers because it happens to be the first serious incident of foul play. Compare that kick to the straight red a player normally gets for two heads going together, one player nudging a forehead and the 'victim' going to ground as though poleaxed! FIFA, the FA and the refs between them have fucked over the laws of the game to the point where fudge is piled upon fudge.

DEBE you"ve got a point there, for it to be violent conduct you have not got to be challenging for the ball and you"re right, he just goes for the knee. This is even supported in pictures from FIFA's refereeing development booklet here:

http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/refereeing/7. law 12_miscounduct_557.pdf

Update: serious foul play and violent conduct are usually a 3 game ban.

IMO that swipe was as premeditated, though obviously not as severe as Ben Thatcher's forearm smash on Pedro Mendes of Portsmouth, and remember, city were so disgusted with his conduct that we banned him for 6 games even before the FA banned him for 8. No shame from Crystal Palace.
I do not accept that this is 'just part of the game'. I don't want to see our players surrounding the referee and demanding that action be taken either, skilful players should be protected from serious injury.

I'd agree with that.

It's not fair.........

Was a sending off but i'm not having all the "he deliberately tried to injure him" comments. He deliberately tried to foul, i don't believe he deliberately tried to injure him. Mangala did the same thing second half it just wasn't as dangerous.

Cunts the lot of em (the ones that cheered)

Got no sympathy for Dann. Wether he deliberately tried to injured Kun or not. If you fly into a tackle with that much force and that high then the chances of injuring someone are quite high. He knew exactly what he was doing. Same as Mangala. He knew exactly what he was doing but the chances of him injuring the opponent were slight, compared to Dann _ the shithouse!!

I believe he, Dann, knew actually what he was doing. He intended to let him know he was there and with the power of the kick to the knee, knew he was going to hurt him and therefore attempt to put him out of the game. The difference with Mangalas foul is that whilst he meant to bring the player down and stop the attack he didn't intend to injury the player. If he had he would have wildly slashed at him with power. The Augero foul reminded me a lot of the foul on Nasri at Newcastle in 2014 and look at how many weeks he was out after that so called tackle.

Irrespective whether it was a red or not, the refs have a care of duty towards all players.
We are not seeing this as far as City are concerned. We have lumps kicked out of us with
no punishment and then you see our card count at the end of a match.

Unbelievable Jeff.
