I Think the club have it pretty spot on regards the season ticket prices .but for match day tickets I think they should be more flexable £40-£50 Far to much for lots of fans .there should be a good lot of seats for about £20=£25 like they do at cup games

Not a cat in hell's chance they'd drop PL match tickets down that low. I'd "luv it" if they did as I would benefit, being a Cityzen card holder. They'll be more or less able to fill the stadium at the prices they're charging, so why would they drop them down to little more than half what they're asking?

True that ... and especially with the increased capacity, sure they can do it.

The thing is charging top wack will not encourage new fans /casual fans & fans that don't have much spare money , I don't have a season ticket any more ,there is no way I would pay £40 plus to watch Stoke ,Leicster , Norwich ect especialy if it was an evening kick off .so many fans watch it in the pubs now which was more unless heard of 10-15 years ago

I agree 100% with you. But the club aren't bothered; they'll fill most of those seats in every PL game. It's sad, but the bottom line is money these days. As I said earlier, why would the club kiss godbye to a substantial amount of money each home game, just to appease those "new/casual" fans you mention?

Strange thread as tickets have been decently priced this season imo

£5 tickets for u16s in the cl

£30 for west ham adult ticket and £10 for u16

Last year was a disgrace but it seems they are listening (or had to with an extra 7k seats to fill).

we have to look long term ,amongst my family .my self . my wife ,one of my sons .my nephew & my niece . hardly if ever go any more ,while years ago we had season tickets & followed the club up & down the divisions & friendleys to Scotland ,Ireland ,Hamburg ect .now we /I would rather spend my £40- £50 having a few pints & somet to eat in the pub .we have to ask ,what sort of fans we want for the future

why is it a strange thread ? many tickets for fans are still fans over the £40 mark plus your booking fee & card to start with .fans without season tickets can now only pick & chose the game ,many thousands watch in the pubs ,who years ago would have been in the ground .

In an ideal world ticket prices would be 20-25 pounds but with the club selling out their is absolutely no incentive to do that.
Also the argument I would not pay 40 quid to watch Leicester I completely agree with. I have never payed any money to watch the opposition. I pay the money to watch Serg, Silva, Sterling, Yaya etc. They are more than worth the money.A lot of fans choose to watch it in the pub for personal preference. Just like united fans have all these years. Season tickets are available at 299 quid, 16 quid a match. Football at City is unquestionably affordable

What about his point about the £30 tickets for west ham in the league? - I thought it was a decent reply which you havent really responded to tbh

OK I Think it great that some whu are £30 ,but if I wanted to get one I would have to pay for a citizen card £30 & a booking fee .plus whu is an evening kick off . don't get me wrong I think city are doing great in most respects regarding ticket prices ,but many more should & could be cheaper

I take your point & it is now a dream come true to watch the players you mention, but unfortuantly not all season tickets are £299 .& the club should be applauded for selling at that price ,most tickets for a game how ever average about £45 plus booking fee& membership card it is about getting the balance right ,for me though there are far to many seats empty at every game to say the balance is right .if we had the right balance there would be no empty seats

The view of basing the "empty seats" opinion at our ground on the pricing structure is daft as many seats that are empty are indeed sold.
Just in my small area in Block 112, there's a few lads stood around us who sit elsewhere but stand around with their mates.

Added to this the amount of seasoncard holders not in attendance and people who buy extra ST's to sell per match(sometimes don't sell the ticket)

Yes there are plenty of "casual" fans in and around Gtr Manchester who will watch the matches at home/pubs and may be enticed with cheaper ticketing policies, but let's be honest now - there's a few hundred million people around this small planet watching EPL matches as well, and this product that's on our doorsteps is being served into everybodies homes in full HD.
We're a bigger show as we have one of the biggest collection of talents now, so we attract bigger audiences.

Hate to say it but the die hard supporters who were going to Maine Road aren't who this big business target.
We aren't collectively the biggest fan demographic of this club in my view... with our fan dempgrahic being from in or around Gtr Manchester and some family ties with the club, basically a background of supporting City before Murdoch came along.

They may make a few quid off you extra when you buy a pint and a pie, but for Korean Kim he'll be buying the whole clubshop on
his holiday trip to Manchester (via an Etihad fight)
And there'sa few billion of these lot inline waiting to come and watch the show.

I think if the club keep expanding at such a pace the stadium will be alot bigger and local loyal blues will still be catered for (in the cheaper seats right at the back) whilst the prawn sandwich lot will have the best seats in the house.

Atmosphere may end up going worse (unless prices stay good and enough beer is available)

And to think we took the pi*s out out of them from the swamp for going down the route we are now going .I still maintain though with the team / fan base we have there
is no excuse for empty seats at any game

My season ticket this year is the cheapest its been since we moved to the Etihad. That's available to me, because I've kept it on since before the Gillingham 3rd division, 3rd place play off, and because I was willing to move at the end of last year, saving me a couple of hundred quid over previous seasons, and we now have the best team we've ever had, I can't complain.

I work with a Mansfield Town fan who pays more than I do for a game.

Fucking disgrace we are.

The OP opines for cheaper tickets, somewhere between £20 to £25 and yet last week he could have bought a seasoncard for just £299, less than the price is advocating.
It's all about personal circumstances and opinion, but I'd rather go and watch the game live than spend the money in the pub.
Spent more than I should on Saturday drinking and eating down at Palace and on the train home so probably won't go to the pub before the game on Tuesday for more food and drink.
I'll go and watch the EDS for free, take something to eat at the Academy and then wander over, have a pint and watch the big boys play.

Not everybody wants to or can go to every game ,all I am saying is do some discounted tickets ,so it would may be encourage people to start going again instead of watching in the pub ,by & large the club though is moving in the right direction.& doing some brilliant things for the fans .at least the club listen to the fans . they have got ticket pricing spot on for the cup games .unbelievable how much we have progressed both on & of the pitch in the last few years .

As has n even said it's thirty quid for WHU. Yet you trotted out the "that's not many seats" and "it's an evening kick off". Look if you don't want to go then don't go, end of. Instead complaining about something that isn't as you describe it.

Tomorrow night the current champions of Italy are playing the second placed team of England. You can get tickets for £30 and under 16s for a fiver. Yet last week Crewe were charging £22.50 for a League Two game.
Get a sense of perspective and just accept you don't really want to go and it's a convenient excuse that City are overcharging, or the kick off times are all wrong.
However I agree that a membership card to buy tickets is ludicrous, however I think it's done to stop away fans from getting tickets in the home end.

Ironically the cheaper seasoncard prices probably put an upward pressure on the match-day prices.

The Ticketing function is to sell the ground out whilst maximising revenues and they are doing that. Whilst the ground sells out, the plans for the new North Stand must be getting closer, and that offers the chance of cheaper tickets for seasoncard holders and fans who can go match-by-match.
