I want him and Evans to be our future CM core ....but it's wishful thinking I know.

Jack Byrne is a brilliant prospect imo opinion he has every chance baring injury to make it at the top level

I agree mate, his attitute reminds me of Kelechi in that he is a confident lad but at the same time he doesn't come across cocky as his attitide to become a better player is evident in his interviews.

I think City need more British/ Irish players in the side, it's just trying to find the ones with top quality.

I think it is the sort of British/ Irish mentality we lack at times, especially in Europe.

You only have to look at all the European Cup/ Champions League winning teams England and Scotland have had and they all contain a good group of British and/ or Irish players.

Loook at United, the likes of Wes Brown and John O'shea have winners medals.

Wes Brown played right back in the final.

I think with Jack and how were handling him he is only 19 give or take if he gets a full season at Cambuur under his belt it will be great for him. Then I would love to see him moving onto another club for 1 more year out on loan say another Dutch team or a team from France and it will benefit him more. The more game time he gets in the Dutch league a better chance he could well break into the Irish set up too sooner rather than later. I like his attitude and i think he is ahead of the rest at the club all the guys who played on Tuesday night will more than likely have to do what Jack is doing and go out on loan. Will they be good enough for us who knows but its all about wanting to do it and in Jack he wants it bad it seems to me. To make it as a pro football player.

Nice to see an Irish lad making a name for himself and playing outside of England. Would love to see him make it at City but odds are slim. I'll be following Cambur close this season. If anyones interested he made his first team debut(i think?) yesterday

He did but he did not stand out at all. Fist match though so nothing to worry about.

Byrne will definitely make it as a professional footballer, and most likely in the premiership eventually. I just honestly have no idea if it'll be at Villa's level, Everton's, Spurs' or ours... time will answer that.

Was that the PSV game? I thought he apparently played well?

No mate, he started the league match at home against Twente. A 0-0 thriller :). It was last Saturday, he was hauled after an hour.
A little bit the team needing a bit more experience to try and score, a little bit his first match and beginning to tire.
As i said though, first match, plenty of time, he did not look out of place, just did not stand out.

Yeah, I heard that was a nothing game. He played in the 3-2 defeat though at PSV and was apparently a lot better, dictating stuff and involved in a lot. Their fans certainly seemed impressed.

I have not seen that game PSV, so that is good news.
Like i said though, first match etc etc i was just reporting back and filling in a gap rather than saying what the future may hold.
Hopefully i will see him this weekend and i can add a bit more.

I think with Jack we could well see him improving a lot during his spell there. Lets be honest if Jack plays 20 to 30 games on loan that will benefit him and his first real taste of man football. Hes only 19 so lets be honest next season I can see him back out on loan and maybe to a team with a better squad more of a test for him to get into the squad and he will improve more and more.
Ireland play in the Under 21s on Friday against Lithuania and I expect Jack will play a major part in that. I also think the more game time Jack gets the more of a chance he will get a game or 2 for Irelands first team. Were crying out for new players and by the time Jack is back at the club full time he could well be in double figures with caps for Ireland depending on him going back out on loan next season.

Last two matches he has been hauled off after an hour but i think that is to ease him in rather than anything he has done wrong.

He is getting the starts though so he must be doing well in training.

I think a better word than 'haul' may be appropriate if he hasn't performed poorly.

Last two matches he has been given a blow job from the team fluffer, after an hour but i think that is to ease him in rather than anything he has done wrong.

Is that ok?

Watched him this afternoon for Ireland against the Italian under 21s he played well got taken off with 5 minutes to go. Match was good Italy going down to 10 men and holding onto a 1-0 win in Italy. He played 2 games for the Under 21s over this international break and he done very well.

Yeah my mate was at the first under 21 game during the week and said Jack looked class
Thats the thing with Jack he needs to be playing man football as they call it. He will get better with the more and more games he plays in the Dutch league. I hope next season Jack continues his experience at another European club were he will be tested a bit more to get into there team but i just think Jack will get better and could well be the a squad player if he continues to progress in the next 2 years he could be a option.
