Right this is going to be the most random and nit picky post you will probably read today, however i need to start it.

Ok, so the spikes that are on our beautiful stadium used to have blue lights at the very tip of each one. My question to guys is why are they never turned on?!?!?! For years now theres only been one of them working, i thought after the expansion they would turn them all back on, but they havnt... why?

The OCD in me hates this, any of you ever wondered this? Or am i just a freak? haha

I'd guess that they're not working rather than not turned on. I would imagine they'll be removed if and when the stadium is expanded on all 4 sides. Are you volunteering to source a cherry-picker large enough to reach them and do the job yourself? ;-)

I hired the machine that was needed to install those lights in the first place and it was 15k per week back in 2002. From memory there was only 1 in Europe at the time. Surely City can afford the bulbs and to repair them - it really would make a difference and no you are not a freak - things like that really matter. Come on City - get it sorted!!!

The concrete mounds at the bottom of the spikes are more of a concern to me. Especially after I went arse over tit over one of them after the Newcastle match. I'd only turned round to see if my 8 year old lad wanted me to help him finish his chip barm.

Whilst they were at it they could install Blue spots that illuminate the whole of the spikes. Would look good for night games.

haha you have reassured me, and yeah money isnt an issue is it so i wonder why they have never been fixed?

Edited for accuracy.

Edited back for more accuracy!!! ;-)

Plus we should probably add that he wasn't really turning round for that reason, he had imbibed rather heavily!!!!

Were you sat in front of me at the same match Sheila? I had a very strange conversation with someone from Eccles.

If you had a normal conversation with anyone from Eccles Citykev28 I would be surprised we don't go in for normal round here. Front row CBL aisle 125 where they haven't added the new rows after all!! Which makes it difficult to talk to the people on the other side of the aisle that I've been conversing with for years, they are now 3 rows in front of me!! Now that is strange!! :-)

There was a lady in front of me. When the 11th minute came (the applause for our Alan) she was up trying to get everyone at it. She told me what it was for and I said "I know, it's my Uncle". She then told me what an inspiration she thought he was and said she was from Eccles. I asked if she was Eccles Blue and she said yes! Newcastle scored so we were distracted for a bit but then I told her I was citykev28 and mentioned the Glass Bridge. She was laughing so I assumed it was you. Only when I said something about bluemoon did she throw it all into doubt. She said she comes on here but on her brother's account.

Do you remember when this happened to us before when the birth of a child led to me thinking my mum had joined bluemoon and it turned out to be you?

I do remember when that happened Kev, that was a long time ago wasn't it?? Was this latest conversation in the South Stand by any chance? There is someone from Eccles who sits/stands in the SS and does use her brother's account sometimes.

Yes, it was in the bottom tier of the South Stand near the corner flag. I was convinced it was you. I was hugging her, my lad was hugging her, I might have planted a smacker on her at one stage.
