Sevilla v City post match thread

Fantastic, professional, team performance.

Difficult to pick names out but Fernandinho, Sagna & Kompany were outstanding for me.

Our attacking play at times was the best i've seen us do in Europe. Add Silva, Aguero and DeBruyne to that team with tonight's discipline and work ethic and we have something really special to watch.

Qualified with two matches to play having lost the first match. Incredible. Well done City. Now go get first place confirmed.

Just been laughing at camel gob and ginger pubes praising us through gritted teeth on the highlights programme although Scholes managed to get a little dig in saying we stumbled on to the formation rather than giving Pellers credit.

Yeah, big problem that.

Decisions decisions........

Whilst it was a definitely a tongue in cheek remark from me, it does beg the question as to who you would drop in a similar away game. Obviously Bony for Aguero, but dropping Sterling or Navas for Silva would severely weaken our defensive stability.

I'm not trying to have a go, I can't really think of a game that we have been as good for 90 mins. It was on a par with the sick swan for me

Brilliant team performance. Lesson to be learned is don't write foreign players off after first season. Fernando now showing what he is all about. Immense tonight.

So then. Fast forward to Juventus. Everybody fit and firing and in form. Do we go the same again or find a place for Aguero, Dave, Kev and Delph?

Tough call. I wouldn't wanna make it.

Sergio would come in for bony and that ain't dissing bony he was excellent, I would leave the rest as is

The challenge now is to figure out how Silva fits in the away European set up, without losing pace in the wide areas and domination in midfield. If we want to continue playing that way, there's a genuine argument for having Silva on the bench to come on and influence the second half. If we want our manager to pick a team with tactics in mind, it's a very real consideration. Nothing negative on Silva, but just looking at tactically how we should play away from home in Europe. Tonight's team was perfect, and arguably our injuries helped us tonight. It's food for thought!

Incredible team performance! This is how we should be playing in Europe all the time!!!! c'mon city!!!!!!!

Rarely will you have a game when no player in the starting eleven scores below 8. To some extent the openness of the opposition played into our hands, but that shouldn't detract from a quite scintilating performance.
