Villa vs. City Pre-Match Thread

The only concern is the ex-City lads. It's amazing how many times players score against their old club. Sinclair could have a blinder out of nowhere. Lescott/Richards from set pieces. Other than the City connection, nothing concerns me.

I'd be quite happy to see Lescott and Richards as the central defensive pairing we're up against. No disrespect to either of them but...

For once, I'd just like us to put away the very first chance that presents itself. We've tended to need three or four before scoring this season, and it would be nice to be ruthlessly clinical for a change.

Definitely. And even more importantly score before they do. We often seem to make games more difficult the poorer the opposition. It would be nice to swat Villa aside like we did with Newcastle and Bournemouth.

Just flicking through a forum over here and a poster on there has, er, posted; "Aguero is back it would seem. The combo between De Bruyne, Silva and Aguero is frightening. De Bruyne proving a bargain already, how many assists and goals has he got so far?" I've asked him where he's got that bit about Kun being back from; I've not heard anything about him being back before the international break.
Kun is a long way away from coming back unfortunately jimbo

Yeah; I just spotted that poster was talking about Kun's previous injury. It's not a new thread, more ongoing, and the post was made in early october. Isn't he due back at the end of the month?
No return date from mp and i don't trust physio room much
I guess we will hear where he is post internationals

Tuesday night? 2 up in 10 minutes.

As I said, I'd just like us to score the first chance that presents- think we'd already had two chances before we even scored against Seville- as some games could have been over in the opening fifteen minutes had we been less profligate. I'm one of those that still thinks we'll rue every missed chance. :-)

Sounds like you're one of us, er, more seasoned City fans!

Just had a quick look on a villa forum, they are still very bitter about Delph. You'd think they have bigger problems to worry about, like trying to stay in the Prem.

Mp has asked them not to boo him but fat chance of that
I'm not sure if he should play or not,mp said he won't start as he is not fit enough

The bitterness isn't on us though is it? I'd like to think it's aimed at the player, and given what he was reported to have said, I understand their bitterness.

From what I can remember, he didn't do himself any favours there. Going on about repaying the loyalty of the Villa fans by deciding to stay there rather than come to us, only to do a 180 a couple of days later. If it had happened to us with one of our players, we'd be raging too.

A bit of both tbh. Don't forget they were challenging for the top 4 before Mansour came along and we took their best players off them. I don't think they ever recovered.

He'd have been better off not even mentioning it tbh.
