And probably on heavy pitches as well.

Silva, Nasri, Aguero, Delph, Clichy all on the verge of League comebacks just in time and then there'll be FA Cup and CL round two and if we beat Hull, 2 League Cup semi-finals.

That's why we have a big squad, will be the same for the rest of the top teams let's see how we all get on when our squads are tested.

By the end of today we'll have had 7 in 22 since the last international break with a spate of injuries to cope with during that time. I'd say we should be (fingers crossed) in a much better position in terms of squad depth for the next 10 games than we were for the last 7

heavy pitches ? fuck me ,wish my back in the daysunday league pitches were as heavy as the pitches today, heavy pitches wont come into it, this is the time of year where the squads are put to the test, and fingers crossed all our players should be available ,we are through to the knockout stages of the CL so the pressure is off there, we've got a nice draw(not easy) in the league cup ,play as we can and come the end of January we should be strong for the end of the season run in, or obviously it can go tits up :)

I have come to f-cking hate the International break. Even my hometown MLS team is in a Cup run. If we lose a single player to injury.... we've had it! Squad depth is more important than having a big name player. Even if your a mid table team, versatility means something.

What a boring thread .
Bleeding hell I'm glad we have loads of games .
I'm off to Villa Park today !!!

I don't think you would ever come across a heavy pitch anymore with all the technology used to maintain them, maybe if it snowed during a game like west brom on Boxing Day or Fulham at home in 2012 it may turn the game into a lottery.

Pressure is off in the champs league just need to pip Juve to 1st, two best players coming back from injury in the coming weeks and a lot of competition for places throughout the team.

3 games potentially away from a league cup final which we should go all out for.

So top of the league, qualified for the champs league, all the new signings bedding in well and youngsters showing promise. Reasons to be cheerful.

and then today happened

We all have that element of doubt with the cups for cock ups we've won. New manager or no new manager villa are a poor side. Attack us and they will get ruffed up like Seville, play defensive and it will be a long afternoon of them chasing Yaya's footballing triangles and defending like their life's depended on it.
