Ref for Southampton.

I would agree apart from his application of the advantage rule; that was straight out of the Jon Moss inconsistency is your friend book

Must admit that I can't recall a ref playing advantage for so long, and then pulling it back. Both times were in favour of Southampton.

So why did he bring play back twice when Southampton lost possession after an advantage but failed to do so when we did exactly the same?

Incompetence would mean both teams receiving the same poor judgment but we didn't, did we. The decisions in the opening 10-15 minutes without booking Southampton players I can accept as incompetence but if you're inconsistent in decisions in identical circumstances for each team you can only assume one thing.

Incompetence can also be shown through not being consistent can it not? It takes more than inconsistency to suggest the ref is actually cheating. It's not as if we didn't get any luck whatsoever either. They should of had a penalty at 2-1 from Fernandinho's handball, and i didn't get a proper view of the challenge myself and haven't seen it since so this admittedly may be wrong but i remember MDM was on a yellow, committed a foul and people around me thought he should of been sent off but escaped unpunished. If he really was bent, would he not of awarded Southampton and penalty and potentially made his cheating worthwhile in terms of making us drop points?

This has happened to us a few times this season but only blatantly in the last 2 home games.....it smack's of agenda and a new roose to use against us.

I await our advantage in future games, although I think I could be waiting some time.

If the ref really wanted to screw us over yesterday, he could easily have awarded a penalty for Fernandinho's handball. The fact that he didn't (and also missed Davis' handball) suggests incompetence rather than bias.

Inconsistency between referees I understand because we all have different opinions on decisions but this was the same referee, in the same game, in the same situation applying the advantage rule differently to both sets of teams on 4 occasions that I recall.

How do you know he's not given Southampton a penalty for Fernandinho's handball yet? Seeing how late those free kicks for "advantage" were given I wouldn't be surprised to see the cheating **** turn up just before kick off on Tuesday night.

Huge difference between the two decisions; Fernandinho had no chance to get out of the way and his arms were down by his side in a natural position, Davis' actually moved towards the ball with his arm from recollection although I haven't seen any replays so I'll apologise if I'm incorrect.

Bizarre decision to play an advantage for such a period only to bring play back for a none existent foul. Why are our current crop of refs so incompetent? Most look unfit and the evidence suggests most arent upto the job.

I wasn't saying that the two situations were the same, just that if the ref was deliberately biased against us he could have given them a penalty.

No mention of Stuart Atwell yet? Don't think he's affected too many of our results but he's as likely to award a scrum or a try as he is a corner or a free kick.

There's one who was still reffing last year or the year before who's damned name I can't remember, we had dealings with him in 1999/2000/2001/2002 he somehow made the top level, but was bloody useless (and its not Uriah).

HMP Walton?

Nobody in the present clutch of whistling wankers comes close to Les Tirebuck! He hated us!

Roger East would be better named if we changed the first vowel to an 'i'. And then added another 'g'.

If neither East nor the linesman didn't see the handball on the line and the consequent red card, they shouldn't be officiating. If their eyesight nor anyone's eyesight is inadequate for the job they are required to do, then they should refer such an incident to video tech! Clear as fuckin' day on slo-mo!

I leave the Etihad these days, win or lose, thinking that the ref is a downgrade on the wanker we had previously. I'm gettin' a little worried about what bizarre 'laws' will be enacted on Tuesday!

So because I didn't eat that extra Mars bar last night does that mean I'm no longer a fatbloke?

Making up hypothetical situations doesn't mean something else isn't happening.

Sale Sharks kicked off at 2:30pm yesterday afternoon at the A.J. Bell stadium.
Watching East's interpretation of the advantage rule, handball and foul play, I reckon he got lost and turned up at the wrong game.

The local Radio Station has just played an interview with Koeman in which he said City got all the Decisions, which he spoke to the Ref about, and they should have had a clear penalty!
Just shows it's all about your perspective.

He made some awful decisions both ways. It's natural to concentrate on the ones that went against your team. For me he was just incredibly inconsistent and the big decisions he had to make he got very wrong. The penalty and subsequent red card for City was the worse of the two decisions for me as Davis moved his hand towards the ball. I could understand the Fernandinho one not being given as I don't think he moved his hand towards it, but if it was given I don't think we could complain too much.
