Fans who would seriously prefer KDB to be a player who is constantly "involved" and holds possessions fail to understand his role in the team. He's not a Silva, constantly probing, stretching, controlling. His whole game - the high-risk, high-win passes, the vision, the amazing shot - is based on creating a few moments of genius. And football is a game where you just need a few moments of genius per match to win.

Spot on
He plays on quick thinking, vision and passing. He's a counter attacking footballer that very rarely makes the wrong decision

sigh..
He is already up there with the very best on the planet.
wake up.
Belguim are the best ranked team in the world. he is their best player.
City are top of the premier league.he is our best player.
its alright, its ok to shout it loud and clear, we have signed one of the best footballers in the world/planet.
so much more to come from the KDB when he gets fully used to our game, and eventually slips into a more central midfield role.
Never seen a player like him before. the two goals at sunderland and spurs away where he threaded the ball thru the eye of a needle at the keepers near post were both outrageous pieces of skill.sublime....and not injury prone, nor work shy.what a player.

He consistently makes a contribution. I just want to see him being more consistent within each game

If he does that then he'd be in the mix for Ballon D'or

It's possible to do what he does whilst still not giving the ball away as often (and we're talking simple passes here, not the result of nearly pulling off a worldie)

It's not failing to understand anything, not is it slagging the player off, to point out where he can improve. He's young, he can improve, and he should.

It isn't a popularity contest mate. That's sort of my point. We don't need to say "he's better" one way or the other. We can appreciate them both and if someone thinks that De Bruyne is a better player than Silva or someone thinks Silva's better than De Bruyne, that's cool. They're both amazing talents. We have them both. Happy days.

more or less, in a nutshell.

slighting Silva was not my intention, comparing them is not my thing,Silva is a wonderful player and ive rarely had cause to be critical of Merlin throughout his time here..but i cant ignore KDB ,s corners,f free kicks, crosses from both wings, range of passing, sublime killer balls, goals with either feet, his cheeky beating of two goal keepers on their near post when no on else in the prem would have even seen a gap,his anticipation of where to be in the penalty box when an attack is forming, his confidence to try something positive every time, the last min chumps league winner which he made look easy but how classy was the finish, the fact he is belguims best player and his goals and assists record since he stepped onto the selhurst park pitch and set up goal scoring opportunities from the word go..Wow what a start.

Never mind Silva, i,m having to re assess if Paul Lake is still the best player ive seen for City!!!! ( can,t believe ive just said that, Lakey, if your reading, i,m only joking mate)

KDB has settled into the team amazingly well....but he will be even better as he gets to know his team mates more and their style of play. And he has barely played yet with the likes of Aguero and Silva....it's certainly an exciting prospect for the future.

Arguing with a gooner, how many goals and assists did this lad have last season in all comps?

There's no point mate. It doesn't matter if you win the argument and prove your point, they will just jump on their moral high horse and start bleating about financial doping and dirty oil money. Just tell them to shut the fuck or you'll shit in their pocket.

Or make a twitter poll about it and fucking smash it.

meat pie, sausage roll, come on Kevin, give us a goal!

Arguing with an Arsenal fan? You'll never win that argument no matter how correct you are, they aren't reasonable enough to accept that they're wrong.

No point in arguing.
For the record:

For the record in Bundesliga 2014-15: Goals 10 Assists 21 Player of the Season

That's only Bundesliga. If you take all competitins - cup and europa leage - it's 16 goals and 27 assists last season for club level. You need to add up his goals and assists for the national team. After Messi and Ronaldo the most productive player on the planet.

Him and Sterling both link up superbly together. Both will be stars for us. De Bruyne doesn't offer the control like Silva. But he scores more and sets more up. Having them both is a wonderful option.

Kevin de Bruyne has scored or assisted nine goals in six Premier League appearances for Man City at the Etihad (three goals, six assists).

Since the start of last season, Kevin de Bruyne has made more assists than any other player in Europe's too five leagues (26 assists).

Just sent this to a Spurs fan who opined today (in all seriousness) that 'KDB doesn't look that good to me'?

I'd push Silva wider to let KDB play at 10. He is our best chance to either score or get an assist. While Silva dictates play stunningly he doesn't make as many key passes as De bruyne and he doesn't score as often.

Don't apply for the managers job please. I suspect it will be a fluid front four when all fit
