City Vs Hull Post Match Thread

This commentator on the Channel 5 highlights programme won't last long, he's purring over City

Thanks Wes and I just caught the end of our highlights.

Can I make a plea. Can we please have backing vocals on my Kelechi song for the next game!!

Sorry Tim missed it, busy cursing Jones for missing the foul on him from which they came away and scored. Nothing mentioned on the highlights

Certainly had a good summer transfer window. Sterling a constant threat. KdB keeps pumping out the silly stats. Otamendi already looking fantastic. Delph looking a snip.

Very nice to see Dave back doing his thing & Kelechi getting another goal. Would have liked to see another youngster rather than Demichelis at 3-0 up though.

Wasn't an overly good performance until the last 10 minutes or so really, but professional job well done & onto the semis.

Oh, can I just say... the kids having a kick about at half time is the only 'match day experience entertainment' I would happily watch every week. It brings back so many memories of every lunchtime being a free for all on the playground with no discernible positions or tactics, mixed in with the odd surprising moments of high quality! Plus, what a great experience for the young'uns.

i liked what they did pre game with the boys in blue being played. seemed less cheese there than other times I've been. that sound system is way to loud though

Absolutely, Willy went mad there. Shame, as Otamendi went to the ball , should have stayed with the man, other than that he was flawless

Otamendi was my MOTM , some great tackles and interceptions through his reading of the game. Finally a defender to rival Kompany although I know he wasn't defending against Barcelona !

I remember going to an AFL game in Melbourne and at half time the pitch is filled with little kids playing games - absolutely hilarious to watch

Silva, Ottomendi and KDB the standouts. Mangala has me concerned at how many basic errors he still makes. Everything else pretty straight forward. Good win without hitting top gear, we managed to give Spanish Dave plenty of minutes and it looks like we escaped any new injuries.
I think that was the least amount of traffic ive ever encountered after leaving the Etihad so getting home in half an hour was definitely a brucie bonus.

Navas got an ankle injury.

Shame the City midfield knocked off a minute or so early, for in many ways that was the complete performance.
Hull defended like Tigers for 80 minutes 7, 9, 10 men behind the ball, blocking harrying brilliantly and doing their best to counter attack but Manchester City just ground Hull City down, without ever looking threatened. Otamendi was just superb at the back.
Great to see Silva back pulling the possession strings like a Zen puppet master. Not quite spot on but that performance shook off all the rust for the matches to come.
Fair play to Hull they could have lost 1-0...
...but they tried to attack and score at the end - but this was their undoing. Their attacks washed up on the rock of Otamendi. The ball was won and then rapid counter attacks just tore Hull to shreds. Goals from De Bruyne and Nacho followed - capped off by a great free kick by De Bruyne. (He can do free kicks better than YaYa and Kolarov as well as the rest of his skills! OMG!) What a player De Bruyne is. At this rate he could have 25+ assists and 25+ goals by the end of the season in all competitions £54m is, well, a BARGAIN. What a calamity by Maureen letting this lad go.
Nacho ain't that bad either. Far better than Bony as Hull just couldn't cope with his movement - he too is going to be a star.
Hulls goal was consolation for the great defensive work earlier - but there was only ever going to be one winner of this game and it really could have been a lot worse for Hull City.

never got out of 2nd gear , but this team is full of class , and we didnt need to , surprised at how spineless , elephant mans Hull team were , 1-0 down and never even tried to make a game of it . David Silva was on a different level , and some very good performances particularly Otto very solid at the back , it seems churlish to pick out a poor performance , but Mangala , just isnt learning or settling at the club , no confidence in the lad . Would like to congratulate the tosser in block 201 , approx row H between seats 2 and 5 , never stopped slagging Bony and Clichy all through the match , and had a go at virtually every player , never once got behind the team ,and he got told to shut the f*ck up a few times , by myself and fellow supporters , but he kept on slagging the team throughout , if he comes on here , he is a f*cking embarrassment , if any knows who it is , tell him not to bother attending again , we dont need supporters like him , a neanderthal , single brain celled , c*nt .
