Anyone heard these rumours about Rooney fighting alcoholism/depression? A few ramblings on twitter

Yeah, just seen that myself. Sad news, if true.

it is sad news, but was always in the cards. He has never been able to handle his fame and money, hence the fags and hookers. He is also at a club that has a terrible record of supporting their players with alcohol problems, from best onwards

Mad to get your head round, from a simplistic point of view I'm thinking all that money how can you be depressed. I luckily haven't been close to anyone who has suffered and I'm not educated enough to understand it. Hate the man but I'd also hate to see anyone's life go down the pan. Hopefully he gets the help he needs.

People can appear to have everything on the surface and still get depressed, think of it like someone who looks perfectly fit and healthy could be getting eaten away by cancer.

Exactly.
The Duke of Westminster is worth $13 billion, he owns most of Mayfair and Belgravia in London.
Nevertheless he suffers from chronic depression.

I doubt the DoW has a drinking problem though. Suffering from depression or feeling depressed are completely different matters.

As for Rooney, the sight of him playing good football in a United-top depresses me. So yes, I'm feeling very happy lately.

It can't be easy being in the public eye all the time and having your life dissected in the tabloids, even for £300k a week. If he is struggling with alcoholism/depression then I hope he gets to grips with the problem.

Hilarious thread over on the Caf - http://www.redcafe.net/threads/man-city-worth-2-billion.412575/

One or two actually get it so fair play to them but the vast majority of it reads like a game of Citeh Bingo! You'd think after over 7 years that the daft cunts peddling the same hackneyed bullshit about us going to shit if the Sheikh sells up/if the oil runs out/or whatever other straw clutching scenario they can dream up would've finally woken up to the reality that we're actually now a self-sustainable football club that arguably has more power than any other club in world football. Jesus wept.

The best thing is their board and bacon fucking chops believed the exact same thing as their twattish fans and its why we are leaving them behind ;-)

What I find hilarious is the sheer fucking ignorance some of them are still displaying after all this time. Ignorance of the fact that we're no longer reliant on our owner. Ignorance of the fact that when he sells up we're not necessarily fucked. Ignorance of the fact that we've actually grown as a club and continue to grow - in all areas including supporter numbers. And of course ignorance of the fact that their club is one of the worst run out of all the so-called elite clubs in world football. More and more of them are waking up to what's going on but they should've woken up in about 2010 when we bought the likes of Yaya and Silva!

Just want to add to the general tone they have and why it is wrong at best.

This all does not matter i should add as we are sustainable now, k; I am no financial geek, i ask pb or sweep or squirty for this stuff but...

Is the cash pot our boss is boss of not the excess from oil to be invested in real estate and other ventures to safeguard their financial stature ?
As i understand it they have done this already and are just adding now so if all the oil did go it would not bother us one bit.

The boss is staying and if his oil went he has seen to it they stay viable as a world financial power already, tough cookies shit heads :-)

I preferred it when all of them had their head in the sand tbh :-)
