Can anyone find the deal on the mcfc website? And is the "search" button working on the site? It isn't for me.

London to Manchester £54.75. January 23rd. Offering 1st class only. I booked this train (20:20) to Piccadilly in mid December with a Railcard, cost £17.15. Can,t see any advantage for me!!!

I have used it and saved. As with everything prices fluctuate, will be cheaper further in advance. The 25 percent is off advance tickets. Just look on it and shop around.

It's for people without a railcard. Why would they give you 25% off when they've already knocked of 33%?
£15.75 instead of £22 from Euston to Manchester on the 6th Feb. £12 instead of £16 from Milton Keynes. What's not to like?

I'm making the same trip out of Euston that day for the same price. If you book early enough there are plenty of advanced tickets (although for Palace on Jan 16th there were none available). The London Branch of the OSC had been having ever increasing difficulty getting discounted fares out of Virgin, to the point they were effectively pricing the branch out of existence as a travelling group, so this deal for season card holders and Cityzens is a real fillip. Can't believe anyone could moan about it!

Forgot it was no use to railcard holders! I've got a meeting in London on Monday 18th - I used to be able to use senior railcard at peak times with off peak ticket but Virgin have stopped that, so it looks like a night out in London before. (Pity it's not Palace away rather than home on the Saturday; I could have stayed over the weekend.) Cheap advance back to Liverpool on the Monday eve but not to Manchester. There's always London Midland from Runcorn (£28 return walk-up fare- £42 without railcard).

You can get into Euston for 0952 or 1006 and back on the 1820 or 1840 for £40.90 return.

The 25% offer is supposed to run out on Aug 31. If it's not renewed, this will get you 10% off advanced tickets on virgin west coast.

Cheers for that mate. What are the qualifying criteria though? It says this offer only applies to Virgin Money customers and their intermediaries in the small print. Do I need to have credit card or loan with them or something, or are they just offering up this 10% off to anyone?

It used to be for virgin credit card holders. I used it once with a different card and it went through no bother. Used it many times since and have not had a virgin credit card for three years!

Update 11/08/16

Emailed the club about this today, swift response within the day.

Status is still "at this moment in time we do not know if this offer will be continued" (i.e. Past 31st August 2016.

That's bloody good isn't it. No mention of the offer with last year's season card as the deal wasn't done, now that they have advertised it in this year's pack I can't bloody well use it. Bollocks!

Club say to keep an eye on tickets and travel, I need to book now before price increases. Argggggh!
