I was at a sportsmans's dinner at the Hilton a few years back when the Mercer/Alison team was inducted in to the football hall of fame.

Franny was on our table and someone asked him who the dirtiest player he played against/with was, and we all expected someone like Hunter or Harris and Franny said it was Dennis Law. He said you could be 3 up in a cup game against a lower league side in the last few minutes, and Dennis would just go and kick someone.

That said, I used to see Dennis in The Tatton in Alty every now and again and played darts with his lads and he seemed a decent fella.

And he did score that goal at the swamp!
