Watford post match thread

Yes mangala has been a problem but he's exposed far too often .
He was poor today however you look at it, but the guy to his left was worse, and Mangala was caught many times trying to defend the space behind Kolarov, who at one point stood there and pointed at the space. I'm not a Kolarov hater, but that was one of his worst games for us, even ignoring the OG, even Sterling was more use defensively.

For many of those posting in the match thread, you know who you are..............

Find a mirror, and have a good look.

Might be worthwhile after gaining 3 points away at very difficult opponents in a very strange season to take an hour out and re-read your posts.

Strongly believe you might learn something, not least you need to think about what present you would really like for your 18th/21st birthday.

If you have supported City like i have for more than 40 years, then you never have the expectancy of winning with ease despite our recent history. get a grip, calm down and support your team regardless,

Hard won victory today.

We seem to play better without Kdb in the starting line up.

Is he our modern franny lee? Franny joined a team flying but then we suffered for the rest of that season!

Kdb is a great player but does he unsettle the team?

The first few games of the season when he was a sub we were flying but since he started matches we don't seem the same team especially away from home!

Only my observation and wondered if anyone else felt the same

No. Not at all. If our important players being Yaya-Silva-Aguero play up their standards KdB will be a step up to the team. Not naming the ever injured Kompany as well. I'd rather we have KdB in our line up when these coreplayers are fit and play a few games together. So again you're totally wrong.

Still looking for the numerous posters whose managerial advice was to get Yaya and Aguero off asap. They've gone a tad quiet!
Not only that, but what's all this 'we might have won but played poorly' stuff all about? Just checked on various websites and the result says 1-2. There are no comments about how we played in brackets!
Also, if we'd played brilliant but lost the very same people would be on here moaning about that. Let's just take the three points and move on.

You sir are the voice of reason, thank fuck for that, happy new year sir!

Yes it is good to win ugly sometimes and it is the 3 points that matters, but if we keep playing like that another defeat is not far off. Our defending is what worries me most, & I don't mean just the back four. De Bruyne ,Silva ,Toure & Sterling too often could be seen half heartedly chasing their markers. Fernandinho was fantastic.

Strewth!

Lose every 50-50, don’t track back, concede stupid free kicks, or corners, when it’s easier to let the ball run out for a goal kick. Appear, bored, lethargic, and lacklustre.
Silva and Yaya hiding when the going got tough.
Mangala: horrific, Aguero unfit.

Bang Bang
2-1
Don’t even bother killing the last few minutes professionally, because somehow it will all end up okay in the end.

Sign of a good team, and all that

Our passing is worse than our defending .

Good win but we are so unbalanced with KDB, Silva and Sterling playing in front of Yaya and Dinho. Gaping holes in midfield again with no protection for the defence. Needs to sort it asap but doubt anything will change.

Good grief, scrambled 3 points out of nothing there. Ya Ya as usual was getting some serious jip in the MatchDay thread but yet again, pulls out an important equaliser plus he was diving into tackles with about 20 minutes left....unlike the 2 other lightweights in midfield who again, failed to make much impression away from home. Some one needs to tell KDB that if we are 2-1 up with 2 minutes to go away away from home then cut out the stupid one time flicks and touches and just keep the effin ball.
What can you say about Kolarov that hasn't been said before? Needs a rest, hopefully until mid May
Silva had another poor match, and another non-existent show away from home...still, he's the great untouchable on here and after all, he's great at home
Sagna worked his socks off again
Kun's winner was superb, even if he is having an off day he still looks for the ball and works hard.
Mangala...oh dear, pretty abject performance
KDB ....as above plus he's a wimp on the tackling front, him and Silva are 2 easy touches away from home in midfield
Sterling...see Mangala, seriously needs to show more consistency and a better first touch

I remember kola missing a tackle and the mangler covering across to meet the man leaving a massive gap. Ultimately kolas at fault but wtf if mang hadnt come to meet then watford would score. Not mangalas fault in any way but defensive organisation in general is woeful im suspecting mangala is expected to cover across and the unit should shift across accordingly with kdb or sterling fitting in depending whos on that side but thats just not happening and its fucking unnacceptable.

it would not be Manchester city if things went our way all season and win the league by 15 to 20 points but you just never ever right us off and YES we never give in and fight to the end and still lose. but that little lady luck loves Manchester city and waves her magic dust and its like BANG here is your 3 points and Manchester city are back in your face. for 80min city was shocking even david silva could not spin his magic and was looking like he wanted to come off but when aguero scored the winner he was arms up running around before the ball hit the net it was like winning the cup not just 3 points you could see what it meant to the players winning when playing below par

ps

I been saying for weeks that pellegrini should play a back 3 and 2 up top and when he went for it we looked like the old city you could see it coming from the 80min the only down side was when we went 2.1 up and change it back I had the feel they would hit us again with another corner or free kick. but lady luck is a blue and a glory hunter who never ever went to maine road or York away but who cares she's a blue now

usually the sign of champions , play absolutely shite for over 80 minutes , and then go and win the game , only 2 players played anywhere near their potential Sagna and KDB , 2 world class finishes got us out of jail , lets not kid ourselves ,the attitude the players are showing is miles away from the title winning teams of 2012 & 2014. A welcome 3pts., but not sure individual brilliance will win us the title , we need 11 players showing desire and commitment , for 90 minutes , not just the final 10 minutes , (which was similar to the gooners game) .With the talent in our squad , we should be walking this league
