Watford post match thread

Remind me where I ever tried to dress anything up from MP BUT Facts are Facts we were losing 1-0 the manager made the changes we won 2-1 Let us rejoice for fucks sake
Fine, but that change affected f**k all, apart from nearly conceding again, almost right away, and Bony did next to sod all when he came on anyway.

I'm happy we won, but that sub wasn't the cause, however much you like Pellegrini, and I do.

I know there's a couple of games still to be played tomorrow, but over the christmas 3 games, who in the PL has the best results so far ?
I'll give you a clue, one of them starts with Manchester, and doesn't end with united, and only Spurs can beat them with a win tomorrow.

How many times did I read on here Pellers is unable to react when in trouble, being inflexible and unwilling to learn? Well now he did. And still he didn't impact the match? Amusing.

He could have brought Bony for Sergio. No impact really? Maybe the outcome would have been the same. I doubt though.

Anyway who cares. City started scoring away again! And Sergio scored the winner!! What could have been better? Sergio back in form will take a lot of pressure off Bony, Sterling and KDB. I expect a positive effect in the coming matches.

Such a turn around is extremely important for the Blues. They will remember this match for the rest of the season. And our opponents might as well.

Navas gave us more balance, Bony gave us an aerial target for their defence to think about.

Perhaps, and I'm not going to argue the point, but neither Navas nor Bony had much impact on the game for me, and putting Fernandhino at CB nearly cost us another goal right away, because he wasn't in front of the back four stopping them, and because he isn't a CB, he didn't defend very well.
2-0 would have been game over.

Navas passed the ball to Sagna for his cross. Not a direct impact but we do generally look better when he's playing iMO.

Bony - gave us a presence in the box that we were lacking. For example, Kolarov tried to find him with the cross that lead to the corner for the first goal.

Fernandinho at CB - made two interceptions in quick succession that stopped an attack and won possession that lead to the 2nd goal.

Navas - got the ball off Fernandinho and took it half the length of the field before giving it to Sagna to cross for the goal. Pace and directness we were lacking.

I'd say the changes Pellegrini made today had an absolutely enormous effect on the outcome of the game.

Just got in blues I was here when we were proper shit a lot of us were but from reading this a lot weren't sorry

Definitely not a Pellegrini fan, but to be fair, I agree the changes he made today were the right ones. Was really disappointed with our creative trio today - they produced very little and lost the ball far too often.

As much as Aguero's goal reminded me of his FA Cup Semi-final header, shades of Edin at Old Trafford with Yaya's

First thing i thought of when Aguero scored was how similar it was to the Chelsea goal. speaking of Edin though, I reckon he's taught Kun that little trick, Not too dissimilar from the goal Dzeko scored at WHL when he scored 4.

Dzeko's not even in the country and he's still getting us out of trouble.

In all seriousness though, Hopefully that spurs on Aguero to find a bit of form now because before that goal he was non-existent again, although he wasn't exactly given much service from the lads behind him.

Already on NBC Sports post-match they're asking "Shouldn't City be running away with this league?" FFS

We should to be fair.

On another note... Toure's goal is the best goal of the season. Sounds like a ridiculous comment but it's hands down harder to score than his goal at Arsenal and that Martina goal against Arsenal.

To hit that goal straight from a corner is something very little footballers in the history of the game could do, it's simply sublime, world class, genius.

At one stage I thought we were going to lose to a team that didn't play very well. Sure they huffed and puffed a lot and ran around but they were pretty tired at the end of the first half when with better options from our attackers we should have scored a couple. Flicks didn't come off, too many times we tried to beat an extra man and lost possession. Then we concede a silly goal direct from a corner for god's sake.
Fortunately Yaya pulled us back into the game with that sublime left foot volley and then Sergio 'rose' to the occasion to bury that great cross from Sagna.
We didn't play well but we stuck at it and finally got an away win. I groaned when I saw Bony warming up as I thought he was going to replace Sergio. I was amazed to see Mangala the player to be subbed but lady luck was with us for a change and the subs worked. Navas added some extra pace in defence and at times didn't pussy foot around -just booted it up field.
I didn't think much of the playing surface and was there a ref on the pitch as he certainly didn't try and take centre stage like most clowns with the whistle these days.
That's my tuppence worth.

Toure is ridiculously gifted in terms of technique and finesse. Especially for a player his size.
Drives me mad when the english media only talks about his 'pace and power'. - his physical qualities
He gets nowhere near enough credit from the media for his technical qualities.

Sorry folks, don't buy the happy clapping and for God's sake please knock off the cliched 'ER LADS WE WUZZ REALLY SHIT ONCE' excuse. We're supposed to be high class title contenders. Craig Cathcart had Sergio Aguero in his skyrocket for eighty minutes. Kolarov played as if he was fucked on crack. Mangala should be doing the door at Spar. Fairness to Pellegrini for finally ringing some decent changes instead of wringing his hands and lo and behold it came off, but that performance was shite yet again.

Yep, but not for long enough. Go and support a team that loses 2-1 and do some sad clapping eh? I'll continue to do my 'happy' clapping, whether you like it or not!

My team won. That obviously has no meaning to someone like you. Why do you even support my team? Please do me a favour...and don't.

Ouch lad, I'm blown away by your Pride in Battle.

Face it, the result was great but the performance was bang average. Blame a shit pitch and long grass all you want. We are awful away from home.

not many creative players would have looked good on that pitch today.Have you ever played football on a near water logged pitch? seriously , have you? i have many a time, and its bloody hard to get a neat accurate passing game going.City managed it at times and full credit should be given to us for even attempting that on such a crap surface. It would be so much easier, and probably more sensible to knock it long into the channels all game, but Manuel has set his stall out to entertain, not grind out dullness like jose or big fat sam or the turtle..and for that our manager should be commended.not knocked , by his own ungrateful fans.
