We paid £41,400,000 for him.

I like the lad, he's clearly a confidence player and he has the attributes. I hope Pep can get him to perform like he did vs Chelsea (debut) and at the start of the season on a regular basis.

Even so, £41,400,000. Christ.

Thought that was pretty common knowledge tbf mate. A few people have held on wishfully thinking it was only £32 million but it seems that it's always been the full £42 million.
True. Couldn't decide if it was a rehash. Ah well.

The OP said they were leaked. I assumed new information has come to light

Where did the £32million that was initially reported figure come from then?

Think it's what Porto announced to their stock exchange. The extra 10 million went to third party ownership. Hence the inflated fee.

This is what I don't get, I recall Porto announcing what they received, it was still being reported at £32miilion by the press even though they ( the press ) were aware that others owned part of his rights

Its probably been leaked now to set peoples expectations of what kind of fee we will be looking for when we offload the carthorse in the summer

we'll be lucky to get £15m for him

It's a load of shite and has been covered before, the OP should be ashamed of starting the thread. http://www.thesportbible.com/articl...-for-elaquim-mangala-has-been-revealed-200116 are reporting that some dodgy website called Footy Leaks has posted a pdf which you have to download (be careful what it is you're downloading BTW).

'Footy Leaks have got hold of Mangala's transfer contract which reveals that Porto actually only owned 56.67% of Mangala's economic rights, with the Doyen Investment Group owning 33.33% and the remaining 10% being owned by a German company.'

Since we can't deal with 3rd parties it was accepted at the time that Porto had to pay off the 3rd parties themselves and then we paid the £32 mill. They've just done some really crap maths and come up with an inflated figure. They even claim Otamendi was £36 mill.
