If this happens I would never attend or watch another Champions League game. A closed competition would be horrific.
Little more relevant than a pre-season invitation-only showcase except for one thing..the cash. In theory, it would put an end to domestic FFP rules because it removes the last vestiges of a level playing field. Of course, it would also diminish the competitive nature of the domestic league because, using this season as an example, 2 of the top four would have to miss out to make room for the rags and Liverpool. That, in turn, would diminish the value of the domestic tv rights. I'm not even sure that would be in the best interests of the rags and Liverpool commercially. It wouldn't have the same effect on other leagues.
It's such a bad idea on so many levels I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it adopted.
