Iheanacho needs to be starting games

He definitely should be starting upfront with aguero, but we all know as soon as bony is fit he will be left on the bench for the odd 87 min cameo, frustrating!

Brings a lot of energy to the team when he comes on. Defenders are unsure with the movement of both Sergio and him on the pitch. Needs to start a few and be given at least 25 minutes if used as a sub. If any other team had him in their squad he would be played a lot more.

it beggars belief that you can,t see that if we over play the lad at this stage in his career, and he pulls a hamstring,we are left with two, injury prone strikers to front our assault on four trophies.
What sort of argument is that for not playing a player? I suppose you would leave Aguero on the bench in case he gets injured then? He's 19 not 12.

I was very disappointed with Pellegrini for not starting him at Everton in the cup. He had been involved in the comp from the off and he should have started. Can't see how it would have made us any worse that we were that night. Hopefully he gets a start Wednesday and Saturday although I can't see it with Pellegrini picking the side.

Don't really see how we can start him, given that we already have a headache from having far too many attacking midfielders who we can't fit into a team. The only way it's remotely possible is if we ditch Yaya, as I can't see any formation that has Yaya, Sergio and Kelechi in it other than a suicidal 442 with Yaya as one of the two. He's probably better coming off the bench anyway, when the game is more stretched and he can find pockets between the lines, he just needs to come on earlier and in place of one of the bigger names

442, him and Kun up front for the rest of the season and we blitz it as long as the midfield four is balanced. he cant just pick Yaya, Silva, KdB and Sterling behind them!

The lad changed the game yesterday for us. He is new, full of confidence, knows where the net is and he frightens the fuck out of defenders.

That in turn gives Kun the space and time he needs.

He's clearly not ready to start games. Brilliant impact sub at the moment and that's how he should be used for the time being

I dont see it that way mate. Im certainly not one for the throw the kids in brigade but Kalechi is ready imo.

Im not privy to training of course but he looks physically and mentally capable of handling the rest of the season if he was asked.

Why not? He looked handy in his start against Norwich (Ok, I know it was a cup tie). Has he made another start? I seem to think yes but can't remember it.
If it was all going swimmingly, I could understand easing him in, but as it is, we obviously need a...something injection.

He started the other week against palace mate. He's a brilliant asset to us when coming on from off the bench, looks a but flappy when he starts at the moment but that's fine he's only a kid

It's impossible to start him with Yaya in the team. We would just be too exposed in midfield, not that we aren't now. I think the best development for his career is coming on as a sub at the moment.

dodgy control a few times but I totally agree he needs to play more. He scared their defence and created the goal for aguero, albeit with a bit of luck. He could be a gem. He seems to be getting more game time and hopefully that continues.

Would that be the same dodgy control as Silva, KDB, Navas and other 'star player's displayed yesterday ? Why are we so afraid of giving him (and others a proper chance)? He did more in 20 minutes than those 3 displayed all game.

He's started 4 games mate, 2 league and 2 cup.

this is the best time to give him a fair chance. The risk associated with this option is pretty low as he has more than shown he's capable of doing the business behind the striker. Dele Alli, Harry Kane and many others have shown that once you're good enough you're old enough. I hope MP would trust him enough to give him a fair chance.

Im not disagreeing Stan; I said hopefully he gets more game time; and yes ive never seen Silva as bad on the ball as yesterday. Nacho's poor control a couple of times was down to his exuberance and we certainly need some of that in the team at the moment. Hopefully those stats about minutes on the pitch mean he is being managed well and he could be the difference in the run in.
