Makes it obvious how deep in the shit this scumbag club is when they won't even accept LVG's resignation...because they cannot find anyone better hahaha.

Poor old turtle, third time he's tried to resign and woody is having none of it
We might have under-estimated Woody.

Seriously, he must be desperate for the Turtle to succeed as he was the one who sacked Moyes (who was Baconface's choice) and appointed him. So it's a sort of power struggle between the "money" faction (the Glazers & Woodward) and the "football" faction (Ferguson, Gill, Charlton etc) and it's the money faction that holds the power these days since Gill & Ferguson went.

Moyes wasn't sacked because the football was shite but because they lost CL revenue, which impacted the share price. Had they ground out 25 excruciatingly boring wins and 5 draws in that season, they'd have finished 4th and Moyes would probably kept his job. But once CL qualification was gone, then so was Moyes. If the Turtle gets them 4th or even 3rd, they won't care about turgid football, just about the revenue. The thought of losing that revenue is the only driver for spending money on the team, not to make the football easier on the eye or to win things.

I didnt know JW Henry was that rich.

About 1.6 thousand million USD.

Which, of course, explains this...

if it's true that he offered to resign then surely it's only a matter of time now before he goes.

He could even come back from Holland and insist that's it.

If I were Woodward I'd have accepted his resignation and appointed Giggs. Nothing to lose, and they might get a bounce from his appointment that could get them 4th. if they do nothing, I think it's unlikely they will get the 4th spot.

Mourinho is fluttering his eyes on the sideline just waiting for the job to be available, it speaks volumes about how stupid their management is that they not only haven't sacked Van Gaal already but they won't even accept his own resignation when they've gotten a proven winner practically begging for the job. Their management seems to be more interested in competing with us in terms of finances and business models rather than on the football pitch which is a sure fire way for them to end up like Liverpool/Milan/Inter, it's beautiful.

I don't blame them for not going for Mourinho. Question marks now

Question marks over Mourinho. Question marks over United's squad. Life is good.

Seriously I have no idea how much they need to change to become decent. But to be fair I have no idea how much change we need either.

I just hope we get who we want in the summer, i.e. that the best players aren't blinded by the absurd sums offered by "money bags united".

It'll be a battle royale for the 2 new Manchester managers.

I know the other lot aren't in Manchester but I was sucked in by illiteration.

As I said, the football is just a means to an end for the Glazers. They don't care how turgid it is as long as those precious CL revenues come in and they can sell exclusive content to Asia. The football is completely incidental to them - they're a marketing company not a football club.

Baconface protected them in two ways - he played attractive, attacking football and made the whole much greater than the sum of the parts. He had to do that because they wanted to run things on as much of a shoestring as possible, which is why he was always going on about there being no value in the market. The truth is that until they manufactured Rooney's transfer request in 2010, they weren't allowed to pay the wages that would attract anyone decent. When us and Chelsea were paying north of £150k a week, they were limited to £90k. He hated that and being forced to play the game with one hand effectively tied behind his back. There is no little love lost between him and the Glazers and it wouldn't surprise me if the whole media fuss around LVG is part of a battle between the Ferguson faction and the Glazers/Woodward. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the former see Giggs as "their" man and his appointment would see Baconface pulling the strings again. The Glazers don't want that (and I bet they don't want Mourinho either) and when you look at it like that, the whole thing starts to make some sense.

To be fair to this red, he's just posted a great joke on red cafe about Woodward talking to Rooney about van Gaal...

"So, Wayne, what do you think of van Gaal?"
"I like that one he did of the sunflowers."
"F*ck's sake.."

Chappers (Mark Chapman, I presume? I don't listen to the programme) is a rag, isn't he?
Motson; well, listen to his commentaries on MOTD for proof of his senility.
Savage; say no more. Plus, he's Welsh!
As for Rory Smith; who the fuck is Rory Smith?

He's the utter fuckwit from the Times who called Pep's behavior "undignified".
