What do our ex first team players do for a living nowadays?

Your right there mate, I recall that game, the press beforehand were telling us we were playing a bunch of students, yeah from the local martial arts school! They refused to change from their black kit, which was a very unusual colour back then, this resulted in the ref wearing a white top, and he refused to take part until his badge was sewn on if my memory serves me correctly! Game finished late and we missed the last bus !!

Was that the game against the president/kings team?

Tony Cunningham is a solicitor in Lincoln!

Never knew this. He's done well for himself: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/tony-cunningham-what-happened-next#:VnzSENfvUDJ_5A

His firm website (link here - http://www.andrewjay.co.uk/staff-member.php?id=8) says:

He has bought the same traits of professionalism, determination and desire that he demonstrated on the football pitch to the legal profession.
I suppose you wouldn't expect them to say that, as a footballer, he was a lumbering carthorse but, believe it or not, he's a half-decent lawyer.

Jim Whitely is a singer. We met Jeff W before the Wigan Final in a boozer in Watford and he was telling us about Jim's career change and couldn't stop pissing himself laughing

"Following his retirement, Whitley instead began performing as a singer and dancer in stage shows, appearing in productions called Christmas Crooners and The Rat Pack's Back, taking the roles of Nat King Cole and Sammy Davis, Jr. in the respective shows"

anyone know about Paul Power i was surprised to hear someone on the forum say he was crap but i thought he gave all for us and was a good player didn't he win the league with Everton when he left us?

He was everyone's favourite boo boy for a while, good engine nothing outstanding.

He was one of our coaches for awhile and like Franny left and won the league.

Bloody hell, showing our age eh mate? Couldn't remember what colour the ref changed into but the fact he mithered about his badge goes to show that anything to do with UEFA's always been a cock-up.

I'll ask him about that and let you know

Be sure to tell him it's one of the goals that this Blue will always remember. From where I was it looked like about 25 yards out with the right foot up to the keeper's left.

If that's right then I'll keep taking the memory pills. Think he'd be suspended for half the season nowadays, he was a great battler.

I remember TT scoring a screamer against Academica de Coimbra. They played in black, threw flowers into the crowd when they came onto the pitch, then proceeded to kick the shit out of City for 90 minutes.

Of course I may be mis-remembering, it happens.
The second match I ever attended. Still got the programme but it's heavily defaced.

From what I can remember Paul was only a part time player until he finished his studies (law?) and improved rapidly to become a very good player by his mid 20's.
Scored that cracking free kick against a very good Ipswich team which took us to Wemberlee in 81.
