Pep Guardiola has spoke about his new job at Manchester City for the first time today. At a press conference at Bayern Munich's training ground.

"I'm concentrating on doing my job. I've already explained why I'm going to England. You have to trust me."

When asked whether Manchester City will be a distraction he said: "No, I'm like a woman, I can multi-task!"

Asked why he chose City and not Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal, he said: "I don't want to talk about Man City until June."

I know it’s a new situation. But I can live with this situation without any problem. I will attack every day, I just focus on my tactics, on the players , on each game as they come. While I am here, I have done my best, and I will do my best until my last minute here."

Guardiola was asked why he chose Manchester City, when a lot of other clubs were also interested in him. He said: "I have already told you why I am going to England. You've got to trust me . I can't come here every day and talk about it."

He was then asked if it was going to make it more difficult now to focus for the next 6-8 weeks. To which he replied: "Why would it be?"

yup , reading it online now

Guardiola: “There are media outlets here in Germany that haven’t asked me a single question about football since I got here.

Guardiola: “Sammer defends the club. When I was at Barcelona and there were problems, Laporta was with me.”

Sky man at the conference felt it was important to tell us that he mentioned Utd before he mentioned us.

Obviously the line will be he wanted them really lol

Just seen that. Pathetic stuff from Nick Collins.

The only way it'd be hard to focus is if the press don't shut the fuck up about it and constantly ask him questions about it...

It is astonishing that these cunts who work for SSN can still surprise me with how low they will stoop. Just when you think they can't get any more desperate they manage it with absolute ease. Watch this instead, it'll make you happier.

Let them suffer, each time they mention united, it reminds their fan base where Pep is going, and they know its not their shithole. The more its mentioned the longer the hurt will last, so just enjoy it.

Amen to that !

Interesting that he has said "I can multi-task" which could be read that he is talking to Txiki behind the scenes about signings etc.

Asked if already working on plans for City is clashing with his responsibilities at treble-chasing Bayern, he said: "I am like a woman, I can multi-task, I can control both situations."

Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus recently attacked Guardiola , claiming he is distracted by his thoughts of refreshing the City squad.

He said: “The squad-planning for Manchester City is too important for him to have his head 100 per cent with Bayern Munich."

But Guardiola, facing the German press today, said: "It's not a problem, I have a big talent for this."

In a fractious exchange with reporters, the former Barcelona coach denied he will be distracted by his impending move to City as Bayern focus on a treble challenge.

He said: "I don't know why managers even give press conferences anymore.

"Managers don't get any respect anymore. It doesn't matter what we say.

"Why don't you write about the wonderful words I say to my players before games?"

he will definitely control the press here !

I would say that is almost certain to be happening bud, it would take a lot to convince me otherwise.
Maybe not extreme detail but there will be words spoken be each party resulting in x club getting a visit from Txiki for their player.

Pepe Guardiola is going to be our manager, still feels weird saying it :-D

Personally i think we should bring Reidy back as player manager but Pep will have to do :-D

Media here will love and hate him in equal measure. With MP - they hate him as he gives them nothing. Pep will give them stories, but he's much more confrontational and will show them up if/when they ask stupid questions.

The rag press won't give up until Pep has his nameplate on his door & his slippers in front of the fireplace. Anyway, he has got to body swerve a piss-stained Scotsman at the airport yet.

But they only hated Pelli til Pep was announced, now they love him and it's such a shame 'The Arabs' are getting rid. Last week was the first time they'd shown anything like the 100 game records of managers (I know they couldn't bring up that stat until 100 games but you'll get my drift).
